Utter joke that Simmons can get torn away from his own creation. Indeed, if only BS, Lowe, Jalen and Jacoby could somehow be reunited..

Would be great but ESPN has Jalen locked in and have given Jacoby a radio show so they're going nowhere.

Zach Lowe is apparently going behind the ESPN Insider paywall so that'll be great! *Sigh* People like him, Bill Barnwell and Shea Sherrano need jobs elsewhere.

Simmons is also going elsewhere with his online content, apparently, just using HBO for TV and HBO Now/GO.

He said it best though, ESPN has ripped away all creativity. They said "we're moving away from pop culture" yet give an award to Kaitlyn Jenner (whatever her name is?) Yeah. I'm a writer in training with the aspiration to move to the States to work for ESPN but the treatment of Simmons changes a lot of perception.

Anyway NBA, Nets are BAD. Not even outside 8th spot in the East bad, just bad. It's going to be a long season.

I'd love Steph to play the whole game and see if he could beat the record for most 3's in a game. Sadly the warriors are more often than not smashing teams at the end of the third so Steph hardly plays in the 4th.

I take issue with this.

There are two possible corrections below:
Kobe WAS spectacular.
Kobe IS absolute dog poo and past it.

Agree with both. My contention (I'll probably take stick for it here as well) is basically this; prove me otherwise:

"Kobe might not be even a top-10 all-time NBA player"

I put this out when I hear people basically saying "Kobe was der best" or "Kobe is an all-time top-3 player, laaaaa"

Kobe was great, no doubt, but he's closer to #10 all time than #3 all time, at the very least

He is top 3 all time for absolute maniacs.

He was always a hair too selfish (largely because he was on terrible teams (largely because he and Shaq both had egos the size of LA)) to be in the conversation for top 5. Maybe top 10, but that's a stretch too:
Jordan, Duncan, Moses Malone, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Russell, LeBron, Dr J....Maybe Kobe gets 10, but Hakeem, Shaq, and a few others all could as well. And that's before Steph ruins the league for the next decade or Anthony Davis redefines reality.

Or Durant realizes his superhuman potential.

I like your thinking. Add Oscar Robertson for me, and you've got a solid top-10. Plus (maybe) Curry, and I'm keen on Kawhi Leonard as the 2nd coming of Pippen (maybe better), and in any case moving Pippen up the ranks as we remember how great he was.

As long as we're clear that Anthony Davis is the truth and will be redefining reality for the next decade.

I forgot Oscar, because I'm a bad person, but yes, that closes the top 10. Curry will get there barring injuries/drastic drop in shooting stroke. Leonard/Pippen is a good comparison. Pippen was grand, still not nearly grand enough for top 10 all time, but definitely a great player and probably a good part of the reason Jordan is undisputed number 1.

Forgot Davis, he could be really great. Pippen was no doubt overshadowed by Jordan and we'll never know how great he really was, but the emergence of Leonard (if he does) and revisiting defensive stoppers would change perception of what actually makes a great player. We still live in the era of people thinking Carmelo can play basketball.

I don't know if Curry will get there, but for me he is an absolute joy to watch. Probably the funnest player I've ever watched...primarily because he's not a freak of nature athletically.

It has to be so demoralizing to defend him when he's draining shots from 4 and 5 feet behind the 3 point line.
