He was total turd. But ALWAYS seemed to play beast against us for Sheffield Wednesday.

Pembo-Gemmil midfield partnership was immense. Those two yard backwards and forwards passes hot-potato passes they mastered. Like the chuckle brothers, but less amusing.

Ay, leave Gemmil out of this... He was as much a reason for our 2nd half of the season surge as Campbell, made a great partnership with Hutchison and scored a few crackers as well.

Decent player for a couple of seasons Gemmil, before injuries, lack of pace, and being forced to play as a right winger got people on his back and finished him off.

But yeah, for a while, he was decent. Pembridge wasn't in the same league as Gemmil.

And for the record, I liked Pembridge as well. Did the dirty work like Carsley, but just didn't score against the ****e, so never got the same reaction. Always gave 100%, and he was a really nice fella as well. Met him in the Directors box at the end of the 1999/2000 season. Think we got beat by Boro...

But I digress.

Yeah, think there's a habit from some to dismiss every player from the 90s because we weren't great as team, but we had some good individual players. We just suffered A LOT from lack of stability and consistency.

And a lot of the people who **** of the players where either too young to make their own opinion, so copied there Dad's or Uncle's opinions, or where old enough to remember the 80s properly, so kept comparing them to that amazing side, unfairly in some cases.
