2025/26 Nathan Patterson

The dud today.

“I feel really good. I’ve come came back and I’ve played a few games for Everton.

“I think the main thing is just to be confident and go express yourself. The main thing is just impress but just do it the way you do it.

“I know what I’m capable of and I know what I bring to the team.”

What a guy, still keeping his head up despite all the adversity....from the Celtic fans, Celtic who are third in a two Horse race. Good night lads 💙

I watched his interview on Scottish BBC news last night and I must say if I were the RBs who'd played all through the WC qualifiers - Ralston and Hickey - when Patterson was not even playing in them, I'd be seriously pissed off at Patterson saying he was determined to get into the WC squad.

Steve Clarke cant be thinking of doing that. I wouldn't be surprised if Patterson was left out of there first Scotland friendly this week and then started the one at our stadium as a matter of courtesy.

The lad's got some brass neck on him, that's for sure.

Nice to see him doing an interview - his lack of involvement with us has meant there hasn't been much call for him to do much pre or post-match media work, and he doesn't appear to be one of the players who makes themselves available to support the wonderful work of EITC, which often enables us to see what kind of people our players are away from the pitch, and makes them much more relatable. He's been a bit of an enigma in his time here.

Hope he gets plenty of minutes in the international matches, especially the one at our place.

Come on David, what should he have said?

You love a good moan.

I dont think saying he's determined to get in the squad and take the place of someone who's got Scotland to the World Cup finals is a very humble move. Needs to show some humility for someone as obvioulsy limited as he is.

If I was in that Scotland squad and got turfed out for him to go the U.S. I'd be furious.

“I’ve been called up but I have no intention of trying to impress and stake my claim. Just here for the craic tbh pal”

Is that how he should answer?

You`re insane.

No, I told you what he should have said in relation to making it to the World Cup: NOTHING.

He's done the square root of f.a. to get a place in that squad and is just being handed the courtesy of playing at his own home stadium.

Clarke cant be having him the WC squad. He cant afford to put noses out of joint.

So he gets asked a question in an interview and you want him to... say nothing? Say no comment?

Just answer that he's glad to be back with the national team and not say he's determined to use his chance to go to the world cup. Anything else is an insult to the lads who got Scotland there.

No wonder he's apparently a problem behind the scenes...even the Scottish manager here wont pick him.
