…Young continues to prove he not done at this level, he’s been decent this season but I don’t totally disagree with the sentiment about Garner or the fact that Young might need to be managed over 90mins.
He was decent for the first 10 to 15 games. Then it caught up with him. Play him for 90 minutes and see how often he'll get skinned. We have to look to next season and neither Patterson nor Young will be our right back, but Garner might if we reinforce our midfield.

…I think that’s about right regarding Young/Patterson.

I suppose Garner could make that RB berth his own, much depends on whether the club already have somebody lined-up.

This was Pattersins first start in over a year so there was a natural lack of confidence. Let him play the next few games and then decide.
Efc will not have enough wiggle room to spend to fix all the priorities so if Patterson does come through it would be a big help.
He's not going to come through. Every time he plays right back he's hopelessly exposed. He can play RWB at a push.

I thought Patterson was pretty poor yesterday and for what it's worth I'm generally not a fan of his but I also thought that mykolenko was poor yesterday and that Madueke and Neto were good.

I also think that Jake has had a few games recently where he's struggled against good wingers. Martinelli certainly gave him a lot to think about.

With all that said, I'd still give Patterson a few more games this season though. Out of our 3 right backs (not including Jake), he's the only one still contracted for next season. We have to give him a chance to build a relationship with Jake and see if he can play himself into some form. He should have a much better chance to shine against Ipswich and Southampton than Chelsea at least.
