The results prove that unfortunately.
Correlation is not causation as they say. There are a lot of factors that influence results, which you are completely not taking into account such as the team we are playing, the formation used, subs etc.
For example I could point to the Newcastle game where Patterson came on as a sub at 0-0, and then we scored 3 goals and won. I am not going to attribute the win and scoring of all 3 goals to Patterson (though I’ve no doubt plenty would do if they could use it against him and even though he did assist Beto for the 3rd) but you see how easily you can make a link between things that aren’t directly related?.
Results are a team game. No one player directly is responsible for them.
