Sorry, what, Dave thinks that’s Paterson’s fault for the pass to Doucoure? Doucoure gives that away needlessly, God knows what he was trying to do. You can’t blame Paterson for that. The fullback is trying to go for a give and go - exactly what you’d want him to be doing.

Usual nonsense, yawn.
The 2 do normally go hand-in-hand

….sad that a specific poster is returning to this thread with his own personal vendetta after being quiet for so long during Pattersons good form. Strange we rarely see him posting in the Gordon thread.

From my own perspective, it’s never a question of Patterson v Coleman. I think we’re well served in the RB position and posters are right to voice concerns about our issues elsewhere in the pitch. As far as either FB is concerned, forming a partnership with the player ahead of you is vital for the team. It’s basic, the pairing know each other’s game and blend together to good effect down their flank.

Its very difficult to form partnerships with players like Gordon & Grey because they have their own agenda when in possession. Both are complicated, both wanting to look good but leaving teammates unaware of what they’re going to do.

Our back four is fine when set, but when we lose possession upfield we are vulnerable. United exposed us when Gueye was dispossessed and Leicester did yesterday with Doucoure. its not the fault of full backs if we have players who can’t look after the ball in key areas.

Patterson & Coleman are fine, concentrate your thoughts on the real problem areas.
