Naismith? Thoughts?

I've always found him to be extremely limited, bordering on crap, and I will maintain this viewpoint until I see any different.

I know lots were impressed by his hat-trick in a friendly in which even Tony Hibbert managed to score, but I've still yet to see anything that makes me think he will make any bigger impact than the likes of Coleman.

Vic still gets **** despite being on fire for 9 months, but I can tell right now that Naismith will be given loads of time and opportunities to impress without ultimately doing so. It won't be long until people are making excuses for his crap football through arguing that he is playing in the wrong position, and people start making out that he is absolutely immense in the position which he never plays in.

No he hasn't, he's been quality for about 3 games and is getting the recognistion he deserves for those games.

He played wank, thats about it. He had a bad game with the other 10 players in that first half.

He still hasn't found the pace of the PL, i'm sure he's still a bit unfit (match fit) after the injuries he's had so give him time and judge him at the end of the season. I'd rather of Naismith on the bench than McFadden

Now that is hard to argue.

Leeds absolutely obliterated the entire Everton side. The only player that played well was Pienaar

Really? I thought he was awful. His use of the ball was very poor, as a link man he does a decent job, collects possession from a defender and passes to someone else, but without Baines to pass to or the possibility of a big move, I'm not convinced he does an awful lot else when in possession. His shooting must be on a par with Nevillie and Hibbert.

On Naismith, I'm not convinced he's going to ever sustain a regular place in the side. He's another neat and tidy player who can play in most positions across the line in an attacking midfield/forward role. As a free transfer I can see why we bought him, but I'm glad we didn't have to pay any sort of fee for him. I do wonder if he was distracted by the news he was being banned for Scotland the other day though, because the story seemed to come out on the morning of the game. As a professional he shouldn't be, but I'm trying to find a reason for how seriously sh!!e he was.

Don't understand where people get this opinion from. Pienaar was utterly boss at the end of last season when Baines wasn't playing and he's far more than a 'link man' doing a 'decent job'.

Last season 45% chance conversion rate with an average of 88 mins per goal. He has been good for a while but since he has managed to keep it up and also because he's finally looking interested people are only slowly embrasing him.

I'd like to see him play alongside Jelavic for more than 5 minutes at the end, cheers.

This too they seem to have a good understanding and would help Naisy to settle but I'm afraid it'll quite often be Jelavic off Naisy on.
