Naismith 3 year extention

Fans can be very fickle. Naismith has scored quite a few important goals for us, none more so than this season when just about everybody has struggled.
He works hard for the team and is a model professional.
This is exactly the player you want in your squad. He may not start in your best eleven, but how often in a season will your best eleven play together.
The game has moved on and some people cannot see that. You will win nothing with a good team, you need a good squad.
I think the most difficult part of being a manager is keeping the squad players happy. These are players who invariably have egos and fee they should play every week. It is easier if you are involved in a number of competitions but at the moment we are in only one and that means a number of players are idle.

I'm offended.

But the little runt pops up with valuable goals. Surely that deserves a squad spot?

Agree wholeheartedly with this.

Naismith as a winger, I don't like at all. But as a squad player who can backup our starting #10 and our starting striker, he is absolutely vital. He is tenacious, committed, great in the air and his scoring record is reliable. I would have him as our backup striker and sell Kone, no question.

I think we can agree though that if he's as regular a starter for Everton next season as he has been this then something drastically will have happened during the summer transfer window.

He's a liability to any team looking to build moves. He's scarily inept at finding his own team mates.

So was Tim Cahill.

TBH he's good enough for some lower league teams in the cups and poor opposition in Europe. But seeing as we're not in Europe for the forseeable and will get unlucky and drawn away to Arsenal in the cups or something, he serves no purpose for me.
This season he has scored against City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Dynamo Kyiv. Even when he's not scoring he win's important headers in midfield and draws fouls in the centre of the pitch to relieve pressure, which is crucial against top class opposition.

Is there a more poorer distrubuter of the ball in the current Everton 1st team squad ? Not for me there isn't. His passing ability is limited to say the least. His footballing brain is pedestrian at best.

Its of no surprise that we're looking a lot better in the middle of the park now he isn't starting games. The midfield and forward lines are linking up as they should and its a getting 'smoother'... more fluid.

This!

Only player I can think of who is worse with the ball at his feet:
