My thoughts on the possible signing of Landon Donovan.

the new kit makers will have a lot to do with this ,infact they will have a hell of a lot to do with it
Thought the same, but more to the point could we take advantage of his presence financially and with our incompetent board? the probable answer is no.

But will we still be with kitbag, and if so, would we limited to selling on the OS and at the store stores in Liverpool? Because Nike isn't chipping in a nickel if this is the case.

I agree with a whole lot that has been said on this thread. The question is if Nike does have such pull over things as people have stated, which American would you rather see end up in the Royal Blue Jersey..Donovan or Dempsey? Also one more thing thats kindof a side note. Has the new kit been released? If so I havent been able to find a picture of it.

A terrific player for us, he was better this time for me then last, he has more expierence confidence and his game is more rounded and he has a greater ability to impact games for me. Would be superb for us.

But i agree with what many have said about fee and resale value, i think as Billy proved if we buy high we have to get a resale value if it goes mammary glands up.

If we could get a decent amount for Rodwell then use that cash to hopefully get both Donovan and Dempsey!

If Landon created goals at the same rate he did in his spell here over the course of a season he would be the leading assist maker in the league above David Silva.

£2M IS A ROBBERY. But not at our end.

The more I think about this transfer the more I want it to happen...but at the same time the more I think its less likely.

I just dont think we have the dough.

Can't think about resale value on this one. Donovan makes us better, and helps us win games and could potentially help us actually WIN something. LD has PLENTY left in the tank, and he's easily the best he's ever been because his football IQ is world class right now, and his physical skills haven't diminished much, if at all. Maybe he's lost a step of pace, but he's still quicker than most in the EPL, and for us he creates goals like no other.

If Nike helps make this happen, God Bless 'Em.

I hate that the first thing Everton supporters think about when looking to sign a player is their resale value and not how much better the team is with said player on the field.

It makes me sick.

and why shouldnt we, we have an aging squad with no money for replacements.
players like distin, neville, cahill, howard, hibbert, osman who will all probably retire here/leave for a minimal amount, you have to think a few years ahead.
