£10m more than we were going to accept this morning.

Desperation and disruption fee.

I said in the other teams transfer thread yesterday, that today's result could add on money.. He's over a barrel, no one seems to want to join him ! ( Rooney dissing him on England duty.. I hope ! )
We don't have to sell do we.. We could actually go with what we have ! A run from a forward and were buzzing again..
So pay up or jog on.

Ashley Cole turns 33 in December. Baines turns 29. He's a full 4 years younger than Cole. Cole is still a great player, and would cost around £10m I feel even if he wanted to leave Chelsea. For that reason I don't get why people are saying Baines, turning 29 in a few months, is 'ageing' or that they'd sell him for £15m. We'd be the losers in that outcome. I agree with people who are saying he's priceless/£25m.

Fellaini ideally we'd get a deal rising to £30m and at least £24m in one lump sum.

Lescott ? Finest bit of transfer business this club has ever done.

Ha it certainly was. Wasn't even the best defender at everton at the time (they should've gone for jagielka, maybe would have but for that injury he got before the cup final) and distin coming in was about a level replacement for a 5th of the money we got. Pity about where the rest went - we needed a winger and a striker and we ended up with a Moyes special of a central midfielder he wanted to play out wide, and a central defender he fancied for central midfield/right back.

0 For Baines
0 For Fellani
I'd say to Moyes if your really looking to improve your squad you can take your pick from these lot - Naismith, Anichebe, Osman, Heitinga, Vellios, Gueye, Jelavic or Kone or you can **** off !

IF ONLY WE HAD PEOPLE WITH BALLS RUNNING THIS CLUB:

I'd sooner keep Fellaini for another year and try to sell him to an oil club next summer. There'll be higher interest after he's had a full season playing in midfield, I'm sure of it.

With Baines, I think Moyes thought he could get him on the cheap because of his contract situation. He'll have asked him months ago if he fancied the transfer, and will doubtless have advised him not to extend his contract with Everton. You'd have to assume that the club have asked Baines whether or not he's going to sign a new deal, and that'll probably be the deciding factor.

If Baines is willing to commit himself to a new contract then I'd say £50m for the pair. The ideal for me would be to keep Baines and send Fellaini to some obscure oil-laden outpost for £30+m next summer.

You would assume that wouldn't you !

I bet we haven't !!

Think of all the classless tits in this window - Rooney, Suarez, Cabaye and Bale is acting soft now.. Then think how our two lads have acted.. Like proper professionals.. played every time Etc..
Liverpool must cheer Suarez, United don't expect anything else from Wayne..

Leighton, your the best left back in the league.. and your actually our best player.. He's a new 5 year deal.. I hope this has happened.. but im very sceptical that it has...

15 Baines due to his age and us needing the money due to the total unbalance of the squad with 6 centre backs.

25 Fellaini as we need the money to sign some midfielders as Osman is rubbish, Gibson injury prone.

40 mil for both....

How much could we get for Kone, Alcaraz and Robles I wonder -- get rid of them, Naismith and Anichebe and make a signing for the 1st eleven instead.

So you want to get rid of five players from our already small squad. You're a footballing genius.
