Just needs more game time. So hard to come in to a team after so much time out an try to do impose yourself on the game without making a few mistakes unless you hide behind others ,which he didn't do. Would like to see him in instead of Barry if were gunna insist on 2 defensive mids. But Cleverly is playing well at the moment and I'd put him next to McCarthy ,play Mirallas ,Barkley and Gerry behind Rom. A lot more to come from Besic though IMO.

Useless. In fact I might even go so far as to say I can trace many of our problems last year coming from when he got into the side. Admittedly things didn't improve once he was phased out but still.

Miles away from being anywhere premier league ready he failed to impose himself in any way on the might of Barnsley. No forward thinking to his game, rash and extremely poor positional awareness. Has to realise he's not in Hungary any more. McCarthy is light years ahead of this fella and always will be. Barkley is the player Besic wishes he could be but never will. Could learn a lot from Barry re. The positional side of the game.

A liability in front of the back 4 that we simply cannot afford.

Take your drunk goggles off and actually watch him play. He's a young and very promising player with the world at his feet, hasn't got it all there yet but with added experience will prove to be a good player for us.

Edit: And yes I ballsed up with the man mark/positioning argument I just get angry and fume a little when people slate this lad when he does nothing but try in the relatively minimal game time he gets.

....I'm a fan but it is true that 'busy' players always give the right impression. Somebody I know compares him to Scott Parker. I wouldn't compare him to Barry but I would love him to adapt to the Barry role. That role requires real discipline including not chasing too much. This is the reason why Lee Carsley was able to play week in week out in his mid-30s.

We potentially have our own Claude Makelele, the effectiveness of players in that position is not always obvious.

distribution was very good on the whole and some neat interceptions. people just expected too much from a young lad coming into a new league and now wont give hime time to learn.

Lack of game time will effect anyone, look at oviedo last night. Also learning a new position, not an easy task, look at coleman when he first came over. now trying to fit into this new role when your not getting game time is gonna be a nightmare but he certainly puts the effort in. maybe we should of sent the lad out on loan like coleman, and as much abuse barry gets on here he would be a really good lad for him to learn off

Yap , hes exp , yes , but hes slower , hes desaire is gone , he fouls much more then Besic , and hes passing is not better. Just answer me this Barry in Besic spot last night, nothing else , he( Barry) alone on DM , how would it end ?

When he stepped in for Barry last season for 5 or 6 games he was brilliant, Infact I remember him playing with Barkley in the middle against QPR and they bossed the game completely.

As soon as Barry was fit again he was dropped, given a run in the team he'd prove himself Again, I would never player Barry ahead of him who is just too slow, painfully so.
