Still waiting to be convinced by this lad. Man City home in the leg cup apart, he's not stood out. I know he cost very little but seems to have a reputation that exceeds his talent.
I'm actually fine with that, he can't be blamed for that - the injured bit.Not sure thats even true, I think the majority of people share your view, they see an injury prone lad who acts hard, gets sent off and has crap tats. And honestly im ok with that.
I personally see something very different.
I see a young lad in a new league who struggled with a few niggles for the first time in his career, a very talented player that simply needs a role defined and a chance to shine, if given the chance Besic will win over his doubters, I honestly have no doubt about that.
Think a lot of people overlook this, lad's great with his feet just look at the little dribble he had right as he came on in Ossie's testimonial. Well rounded player I feel just needs a spell of fitness under the new managerYou've got to admit he's got great technique for a centre half though.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think he is lauded more than he has earned.
He has two seasons under his belt now so I don't buy that settling in bit.
Hopefully he pulls up trees this season.
Think the reason he's lauded is due to how hard he works and how much passion he seems to show for the game, same with Naismith- Besic has a lot more pure ability though imoI'm actually fine with that, he can't be blamed for that - the injured bit.

If he's starts first game of the season and stays fit I can see him being one of our best players next season. I love the lad anyway but I really do rate what he brings to the team. He can cover the ground just as much as McCarthy but is like 8x more talented ability-wise.

I like him as a person (as far as I can tell, obviously). He seems to actually have a bit of heart which is refreshing these days.
I think this "tough guy" image that´s been built up around him isn´t doing him any favours. He seems to endlessly be giving away fouls with those wild challenges of his. Not to put too fine a point on it, the lad is probably trying a bit too hard to please the fans.
He´d benefit from doing the simple things right and I´m sure Koeman will teach him that over time.
As it stands though, I don´t think he´s good enough to be a starter if we have any ambitions of climbing the league.
Agree 100%Well of course he no longer needs the settling in period, but he did, that was more my point, the key here is he needs to be given his chance in order to take it, I know he was given a chance in that Arsenal game, but there wasnt a single player that comes out of that first half with any praise.
Its now or never for the lad and when I say now I mean the next 12months.
