It HAS to be him and McCarthy holding in our midfield, no question. Barry should come in for the lesser games or for cover but at full strength should be Besic and McCarthy.

Exceptional performance yesterday: strong tackling; great movement; determination; showed signs of his passing ability.

What I enjoyed the most, was that in the first half some of his passes fell short due to lack of pace.

However, his head didn't drop nor did he give up. Instead, he adapted and his passing became much better as the game went on.

He's not perfect yet, but he's adapting well and improving each week. Cannot wait to see him in a few weeks time.

if you look deep into his eyes, you can see the glint of a 12 match ban.

Besic played well but at times he still gives the ball away - he needs to work on that.

Also he is likely to get a yellow card most games, so needs to work on making the corrrect tackle (not tackle for the sake of it).

To be fair most players whose job is partly to do with winning back the ball are likely to get a yellow card most games in this day and age. Yesterday I can only recall one reckless tackle (admiittedly it was one where he was miles away from getting it right and if he'd made contact he'd have definitely been booked).
