Without going OTT he had a very impressive first 45 mins against a team who like to keep possession. Good in the tackle, very tidy feet.....but most interesting was the way he was organising those around him. Confidence in a player with ability can only mean good things.

I said a good while ago he looked like Cahill - his posture is almost identical. For a moment, I thought the early Cahill was back on the pitch in the beautiful number 17 shirt......this boy could be really special under Martinez.

I might, but he'll have to be incredible given the job McCarthy does. He's not proven in the Prem at all yet, so saying he's better now is jumping the gun hugely.

He's more composed on the ball and his passing has more range. I don't think he'll have an issue with the physical side
