Muhamed Besic

So this deal will be done very soon...good sign.

Everton hope that a deal will be done.

2 quotes from Martinez which are quite worrying

1 - If Mo Besic comes through we need another two signings as well before the start of the campaign and one must be a striker.
2 - Roberto Martinez is hopeful Muhamed Besic's proposed transfer to Everton will be completed early this week.

It seems quite far away. The deal is so strange. First Besic said he's signed, he goes around apparently telling fans that he's signed, then Everton come out and say "we'll announce the deal next week", then today we have RM saying "We hope to get him signed early this week".

It's as if they lured him into the club, gave him a 1 day trial, then headed back to the drawing board about whether or not we'll offer him a contract.

EDIT

Upon writing this, it seems to me that Besic thinks the deal is done, and it's club who's screwing up the payment. Martinez said there's a few "details" to iron out. To me that sounds like the details are whether or not his club will take £40 a week for the next X amount of years.

Another thing that strikes me is that Martinez is so open about being "respectful" to Chelsea/Lukaku and not talking about a player that is playing for another club.

He's gone completely against his word. He's got a player to fly out to Liverpool, chat to club execs, then fly out to Bangkok in full Everton training kit, train with the squad and sit in an autograph session. This guys isn't even an Everton player!

EDIT EDIT

Someone else mentioned the time it takes for transfers to be done on deadline day. Within hours a fee is a agreed, a player is alerted that club X wants to chat to them, and a contract is bashed out and submitted to the the FA for registration. In HOURS.

You are making me nervous mate. We need him desperately.

This has to be the oddest way to go about signing a player ever.

I'm now a little dubious as to whether we'll actually sign him!

Imagine how shockingly embarrassing it'll be if he doesn't?!

HaHa, i'd be tempted to go support Besic from that point because of his integrity and faith, at least 'til the clown's are out of the executive roles at Everton ffs, lol

Surely anything can happen up until the point that pen is put to paper.

I wonder to myself why have they basically announced he's signing for us before has actually signed for us? Is it to put off other clubs trumping our bid for him?

It's like we tried to convince everyone we signed him, when in fact we haven't.

We should try that tactic with Lukaku. Get some photos from last season at FF, photoshop the new kit on him and 'leak' it.

Are people really being serious here? Everyone was moaning the club wasn't telling them what was happening and now they have you are still moaning, if he wasn't as good as signed do you think the club would have allowed the echo of all people to picture him in the away kit?

...yep, it would be a major rick if the club promoted new merchandise using a player who failed to sign. Not even Everton would do that - I hope!!

I know what you mean: the club are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I just think it's a risky way of doing business.
What if he decided on tour he thought the squad were a bunch of bell-ends? He could change his mind.
What if the RS put in £20m just to prove a point?

I don't actually believe that this would ever happen, but you get the idea- it is possible and therefore pretty risky.
