I don’t even know if he’s talented anymore. Haven’t seen him play for years. Just thought he still had some stock about him if championship clubs have been scrambling about to sign him over the last few years and Sheffield United took him on loan last season.You’d have thought there’d be some interest.

It's not really his talent that has held him back though, it is his complete lack of a footballing brain. He has loads of pure talent, loads of players do, it's the other stuff that means they don't make it to a position where their talent should take them.

Injuries took their toll, but he let the fans into his head.

Our fans love a cult hero and I remember lads telling me he was boss and I was an idiot cause he tackled Messi once in a World Cup.

Always felt like he was quite panicked and was desperate to impress though equally and always tried to do too much with the ball, and made mistakes.

Played against Chelsea and tried a trick and we conceded because fans saw him do a cruyff turn in a pre-season game.

Wish him no harm, as injuries never helped, sure some club in Germany will snap him up.

Good championship player ,passionate gets stuck in decent on the ball at times there is alot of besic type players in that league and that's his level carnt help but like the lad tho .

I would not be surprised if Everton and Besic now reach some kind of financial settlement for the remainder of his contract, then cancel the contract and as a free agent he could pick up a club.

Shame his career has gone the way it has, he's got something to offer a club at a slightly lower level. Definitely a better player than the likes of Davies and has more passion than the likes of Delph or Schneiderlin. Can count himself as very unlucky but good luck to him when he does eventually move on.

Sheff mate says he alway gave his all. Looked talented in parts but made some mistakes. always got stuck in . Same as his short everton playing time. Felt he could have done a better job then the likes of morgan snides/tom davis when we were woefully bad for a period but there is always a mistake in him and would be punished every time in premier league.

I always thought that. Thought he would be great at that level. But he was even being benched a lot in games there.

Nope, if we were going to do that we'd have done it before the window closed.
We have his registration until the window reopens.
I think he could technically free up his registration by registering himself as an Amateur player, but there are strict regulations on that as as to not make a mockery of the window. (That used to be the loophole anyway, it might have been tightened up by now)

I still maintain I’d have rather watched him all these years than Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson. Oh he’s also another one that got a horrific injury.

Don't understand how he hasn't made it back to Germany yet, stayed way too long in English football while not getting enough playing time.

It his wages that have held him back. There would be plenty of taker but there aren’t many of us that would start a new job on half the wages.
Quite frankly, if you over pay wages for talent you get stuck with them. Bolaisie, walcott, grarbutt, other examples of this.
