Moyes Watch @ Real Sociedad

7th last year, 4th year before.

I think he'll get them to those levels over the coming seasons. Obviously it'll be near impossible to get in touch with the big 3 but I can't see any reason why he won't have them competing with the second tier teams soon.

Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal look pretty good this year.

But yeah it's a league where any team can get into europe on the back of a good season.

If he's given time and can get his players palying for him, he might do well. I've seen plenty of fans on the guardian la liga blogs hating the football they paly, though. Not sure he'll get the time or be able to convince his players.

A few more 4-3 wins will probably sort the problem with the style of football out. If Moyes can get the team playing the way he wants then they'll all be on board. The problem is to get his teams to that point he'll battle his way to 0-0 draws and do whatever it takes to grind out a result. Definitely not good on the eyes.

Great win today...Manager of the Year for me. Beaten 2 top sides already. They can't seriously have asked for anything better.
Looks like he sharpened his knife.

The thing about La Liga is the way Spanish football is played it suits the better teams which is the reason why Messi and Ronaldo score 60 goals in a season but while they look decent internationally don't exactly look as good as the great players of the past like Maradona or Zidane. I shudder to think how Maradona would have torn that league apart today.

I think Moyes is showing them that if you play a bit more like English teams you can pick up points against those sides. It's not simply a case that the defenders are to a man weaker.

ffs osman you snitch

David Moyes has threatened to find the dressing room mole at Real Sociedad and remove him from the club.

The former Manchester United and Everton manager is upset that his selected 11 appeared in the media last weekend before his team’s Sunday lunchtime game against Valenica.

In a press conference on Friday he said: ‘For some reason our team is in the newspapers [on the day of the game]. I don’t get the opposition team. I didn’t get Valencia’s team but the opposition get my team. I don’t think that’s right.

‘It doesn’t seem correct to me that our rivals find about our team selection because of leaks.’

When asked if a story circulating in San Sebastian that he has warned the players that if he finds one of his team has been leaking the team to the press he will make sure they leave the club, he replied: ‘Yes, correct!’

Moyes made several changes when he arrived at the Basque club last November, reducing the number of public training sessions in the lead up to match days and limiting daily injury updates because he believes it helps inform rivals.

He also prefers not to announce the squad for games on the Friday before a match – something that has not gone down well with some local reporters. Real Sociedad face Espanyol on Saturday.

Moyes said: ‘They have been in good form recently. But I hope we can use our good recent form at home.'

In their last game at Anoeta Real Sociedad beat Sevilla 4-3 to solidify their position in mid-table.
