Alex Ferguson advised him to go there.

So does this mean Alex Ferguson was managing Everton between 2002 and 2013 by proxy?

Does Moyes think constantly telling the world that "Alex Ferguson advised me " to do this, that or thon sounds impressive?

Yo, Moyes......Alex Ferguson "advised" you to string Bill Kenwright and Everton along because you were the "chosen one".

That worked out well.

"Leighton Baines should be allowed to leave to further his career (sic)"
- David Moyes
I think Baines would have more chance of trophies at UTD like Rooney definitely furthered his career by going there, laughable to suggest otherwise I would say.

Fortunately Baines is a good egg.

"Plucky little Everton" - we are not.

Which isn't really the point.

Moyes would rightly have done his nut if any manager had said that about one of his players as he tried to buy him at a knockdown price.

We know this because of how incensed he was when he did his utmost to deny Lescott the chance to go to Citeh where he had a better chance to win trophies.

(although given his general Uriah Heep obsequiance when it comes to Ferguson maybe he would have driven Baines to Manchester himself happen Ferguson had "advised" him that Baines would "further his career" by going to OT)

Interesting move for Moyes to try something different from a Prem job likened to us in some way. Adds to his CV by pitting wits against new coaches and seeing new some very top class players close to. Funny he never mentioned Howard Kendall managing in Spain when mentioning some greats had managed there.
As an aside the constant references to SAF sound ridiculous although I guess he was probably asked the question first.

I'm not disagreeing with any of that outside the brackets and I was surprised by some of his behaviour after he left but thats football and I ain't gonna act like a spurned schoolgirl over it. He done a decent job for us which is being proven once again as we struggle in the Prem after the premature calls that he held us back all those years.

We are "struggling" in the Prem?

:hayee:

Ok Mate we've been Boss

Now you're just being ridiculous.

We haven't been "boss" but neither are we "struggling".

It has been a stop/start season thus far in the league but we are improving and have taken eight points from the last four games, conceding only two goals.

And this has come in tandem with some good displays against Lille in the EL.

Things are looking up, Nev :)

Onwards and upwards.
