Moyes wants Sparky's Johnson

Isnt this all Smith legacey, he pulled the youth team no? Letting Jags, Barton and Baines go. I beleive Johnson was on Moesys watch though the decison was made by academy staff.

The Academy have taken the plaudits in the past. I reckon that job in this part of the world is made massively easier by kids and their parents looking at Liverpool FC and not fancying wasting their time there and so plumping for Everton. Maybe it's the case that these kids pushed out at EFC were late blossoming, and this happens at all clubs, but if Everton's future lies with developing talent rather than buying it, that sort of failure rate to retain quality should be addressed. Johnson was released by us in 2004 - less than two years later he's in the City first team. Someone was asleep at the wheel at Netherton.

Good post and food for thought. As stated above If we are to compete we can not let these slip through the net as we cant compete financially we have to make sure the kids we let go are not going to make the grade having said that im sure every club is probably guilty of this mistake at one time or another

He had trial's for Liverpool, Everton, Leeds and Feyenoord. I'm not sure he was ever officaly on our books. He came through the ranks at City.

Dan Fox whos currently at Coventry and reportedly being lined up for a move to the prem actually made our first team Squad at 18. Hes gone on to play for the England U21's.

He's always wanted him but the fact we've ne'cash and the fact the lads english is going to want £8-10mill as a kick off price.

Unless Citeh are feeling generous being that they dont need the money, £6mill would be a good price if they want rid.

He's not injured anymore, he's coming back into full fitness, which is why the transfer talk has popped back up. Hughes hasnt been playing him with Ireland/Elano/Fernandes etc all playing over him.

I dont know much about his injuries though - are they bad ones are just
niggles and knocks rather than Vaughan-style season enders?

Elano's on his way out

According to Wikipedia he's only held together by Uhu. Which is obviously rubbish, everyone knows Hughes only uses superglue***

Seriously though : njury Club Date Injury Reported
Groin Strain Manchester City Injuries 2008 September 1st
Groin Strain Manchester City Injuries 2008 April 4th

Looks like he might have a recurrant probem getting his leg over. What was the name of that specialist Rooney used to see?

*** apologies k b . Joke, not aimed at you.

getting this kid for 6 mill would be a super signing, can't believe people are questioning it. Unfortunatly it's only possible in fantasy land, no way would he go for anything less than 10 mill.

oh and i forgot to mention even if he was going for 6 mill, i don't think a cake stall will raise that sorta cash :(
