In the Mail today, Celtic were said to want Moyes to take over in the new season. Strachan was said to be on his way or will be.

Everton state Moyes is here for the long term pointing out the new contract and what he wants to achieve with Everton.

I think a typical piece of filling up paper but one never knows. from that interview on the TV it is clear his heart is still very much in Glasgow.

I think Moyes is more ambitious than that. Regardless that Celtic is a massive club, it plays in one of the poorest leagues in the footballing world. A quick dalliance into the CL doesn't change the fact that for 9 or so months a year, the club plays very poor opposition.

I can see in the future that Moyes would manage either of the Old Firm (he's a rangers fan) or Scotland, but certainly at this time I think Moyes believes he's got things to prove on a bigger stage.

Anyway, Celtic couldn't afford to (1) pay Moyes 65k a week; and (2) pay the compensation to Everton necessary in order to prise him away.

The feeling on the Celtic boards is that this is a rumour encouraged by the Celtic hierarchy looking to undermine a possible season ticket boycott from the anti-Strachan brigade - who are legion amongst Celtic fans.

I have to agree with the comments concerning the SPL. Only two teams have won it over the last 20 years? I can't see anyone this side of a former Newcastle manager going to the SPL....

15 years maybe but Moyes wants to be up there with the best managers and prove himself on the big stage before he comes home a world class manager and condemns the club that originally condemned him by taking Rangers over

Always assumed he was a Celtic fan tbh as he started there but after reading that he supports Rangers I can see that mentality being in the back of his mind

His Dad was actually a Hun , I heard . His Da was a coach and young D tried for both but wasnt succesful at the large forehead firm . He thus ended up a Bhoy .
