Why does it pop up after every Martinez failure. Pityfull

Dunno, I do agree, I personally would rather not keep talking about him, just feel its unfair when people ignore the fine work he did while Manager.

He took us from the bottom and made us compete, on an utter shoestring.

He had all his best players sold, still maintained a decent league standing
Took us to Wembley, still maintained a decent league standing
Took us into the Europa time and time again, still maintained a decent league standing
Got us into the CL
Went almost 2 years without signing a single player, still maintained a decent league standing

All for the same price as Martinez spent on Niasse, over 11 years.

/shrug

Its gonna be funny comparing the next manager to Martinez, thats a seriously low bar somebodys gonna have to jump.

On potential yes (the nasty P word that gets folks fired)...on actual on the field performance/ability no.

Young players can dazzle and frustrate...and defo underachieve under the weight of expectations.

Sadly Moyes' sides did the same with veteran squads.

Potential? Lukaku isnt potential, hes an actual beast
Barks isnt potential, hes played over 100 games for us
Stones the same

Moyes never had players of that calibre to work with.
Dele Alli is 3 years younger than Barkley, age isnt a barrier to perform.

So you agree the Barks and Stones are overrated too.

Nope.

I think they are superb players currently being ruined by poor coaching and working under a manager who fails to get the best out of a talented group of players, of various ages, we have young players playing like crap, we have old players playing like crap, we have average age players playing like crap.

In the Martinez fairground, the ride never stops.

I think they are massive talents as well...but I also think they are still in their infancy in development. They both struggle mightily for confidence (Rom too)...Barkley especially is confidence struggler. A confident Ross is a boss Ross. Same goes for Rom and Stones. Rom is ahead of Stones in that category and Stones is ahead of Ross. Ross' confidence is so flimsy still. I think there are factors at work during a match that affect his confidence.

A confident Ross is a boss Ross. When he does something special on the pitch...you can see the confidence beaming from him. Likely to produce another confident moment or two.

Moyes used to run players into the ground and ruin them, but one thing you have to concede is that he was an excellent provider of fitness, whereas most of our players now are blowing out their Arse by 65 minutes now at the moment.

No coincidence that Moyes got better results with a slightly weaker side, because we're very fit.

Look at Leicester, every player is in peak condition fitness wise, and they're winning every week. We're anything but, and no surprise were struggling like mad.

Let him go, we will never know but Moyes had his flaws as well and limitations. He was a chicken when it came to playing big games and never came out a winner

I wonder what part mentality plays on our current fitness levels.

Classic this, posters would rather make out that Stones and Barkley are overrated to excuse our championship manager. You literally couldn't find two classier players if you tried.

This plus defensive drills. Moyes did defensive all the time, I dont think Martinez has a clue what one is

Martinez is not in Moyes' league in my opinion, no way should they be compared after every loss. What Moyes did with what he had and what martinez has done with what he has, is not even comparable.

Yet one has won an FA Cup and the other can't find a job to save himself.
