Moyes Though ?

Absolutely not.

But if it was a straight choice between Moyes and Martinez there's only one answer.

Thankfully there's more managers in the world than these two.

You should never go back. Onwards Evertonians.

But it is a shame that some are unable to appreciate that he took over a club that was perennial relegation candidates and turned them into regular contenders for the European places.

I remember feeling resigned to relegation in 1998 and how Chelsea massively helped us out by beating Bolton for us. I am grateful that Moyes made those relegation dog fights a thing of the past.

Moyes is a good manager but absoloutely not. I cant be sitting through more years of guaranteed away defeats at the bigger teams before a ball has even been kicked

In my eyes Moyes is a far better manger than Martinez but not a chance we should be going back for him.

If Martinez wins the Cup he will have exceeded what Moyes did in 11 years. I don't think the answer is as clear cut as that.

Yeah and I'm sure Moyes would have won it and be 4th with this squad and money at his disposal. People so easily forget how [Poor language removed] skint we were and how he always had us up there.

Let's not pretend that we (up until Moshiri invested) suddenly had more money than the rest of the league...everyone got more money with the TV deal.

Lukaku and McCarthy were funded through the sales of Fellaini, Jelavic, and Anichebe.

I wouldn't go back for him, grateful for what he did over the years and where he started from with us but there is really no point going back, we need a pochettino type who can bring in a vision but develop us past where we have been "consistently". Martinez had a vision but had taken a team down just before joining us and as its showing now fluked the 1st season thanks to not overly changing the defensive system moyes installed.

Saying all that though we currently have a 30% win ratio or there abouts this season and in moyes' last we had a 42% win ratio and only lost 7 all season, so even that would suggest he would still do a better job than martinez :D

Spin it however you want.

Under Moyes we had an average wage bill of between 12th-14th, an average net spend of around the same, he constantly got us on average 7th place.

Under Martinez we have an average wage bill of between 8th-9th and also an average spend of around the same, Martinez has got us on average 11th.

1 of the Managers excelled, 1 of the Managers is so far out his depth its unreal, which is ironic, cos the higher Moyes got us, the more out his depth he got.

But as others have said, I would currently rather we had Moyes than the utter fraud we currently have masquerading as Manager.

But given the choice, I would rather we didnt have either of them.

Martinez has a net spend of £15m plus per season while Moyes had something like £2m so better not pretending Martinez is not backed by the board.

A straight choice between the two. Moyes no doubt. He is always a better manager out of the two. His league records with the club spoke for himself. He has a small net spend and keeping the club in the top 6/7.

However, we have moved on. Moyes is a no go he built the bridge with the club. I want a proven, high profile manager as replacement for Martinez not Moyes.

It's called TV money...which everyone now has. It's really not hard to work out.

You can't characterize our spending as anything more than middle of the pack.

We have bought 22 players for £100mil. Which sounds like a lot...but 28 of that was on Lukaku, 13 on McCarthy, 9.5 on Funes Mori, and 13.5 on Niasse. Jury is largely out on the last one, but I reckon the others were money well spent. That leaves 18 players bought for an average of 2 mil.

Or in other words we've had a net spend of £47 mil on 22 players...2.1 mil per player. Peanuts.
