Moyes Though ?

The strain of becoming an internet meme has taken its toll on him.

He looks ten years older since leaving Everton.

I came onto the thread to say just that.....he looks beaten and scarred. Not so much wrinkled as rutted and pocked.

Anyone think joe Royle could do a job till the end of the season. Hugely respected by players and fans alike. Produced some great football in the mid 90s with a talented bunch including Andrei and limpar. Not as talented as this current squad that Roberto has managed to get everyone (including supporters and media) wondering how they are in the bottom half of the league.
As much as I love Joe Royle, the game has moved on since he was a manager. Nice idea but I'm not sure it'd work out.

Back to Moyes though, we'll probably be the defining time of his career.

He's been doing a lot of TV work recently and its actually annoying me how much credit he's getting for 'BRING THROUGH DA YOOF' more so being credited with helping develop Ross Barkley.

David Moyes has done absolutely 0 to the development of Ross Barkley and thats a fact.
Agree.

Its utter rubbish, he gave him his debut and he put an arm round the lad when he was at his very lowest.

Neither Moyes or Martinez made Ross the player he is, its laughable that we have to give credit for a player with supreme talent.

Without checking, who takes the credit for Messi?

Not mentioned the Roberto vs Moyes debate for Ross like, but i think Roberto has allowed Ross to, i dont know, be free (if that makes sense). But its all natural with Ross, he just needed the platform to show it. Without turning it into Moyes vs Roberto, i think Roberto has given him a better platform.

But original point still stands with regards to Moyes getting an awful lot of unwarranted credit.

To be fair, he stated quite clearly that Martinez and the Academy staff should take all the credit today.

But I dont credit either with Ross being Ross personally.

That annoyed me as well. Barkley gave away a penalty in one of his first games and then Moyes jibbed him off for a year.

Whenever Moyes talks about Everton he talks as if he's still our manager or something and it Ps me off to be honest. He doesn't do it with United but he when I listen to him talk I hear a tone of voice that hints that he still feels some sort of connection with our squad. He's nothing to do us with us anymore and I never want him to be again. Our current problems with Martinez are our business and Moyes is completely irrelevant to it.

He was Ross's biggest obstacle

Yepp this. He gave away the pen against QPR, and then he stuck him in the ressies, and then shipped him to Leeds and Sheffield Weds.

The reality is, Moyes did not appreciate youth. Shrewd in the Transfer Market, yes... but a fan of youth? No.

It's even came out that he had sod all to do with Stones, so you can't give him credit.
