Moyes: third parties complicate things

Why stop there?

We Americans are ripe for a good bashing on a regular basis.

Too easy a target, TX. It's a European pastime to bash America, usually encountered when something goes wrong internationally. I personally love Uncle Sam and blame French pseudo-intellectuals for all of this.

Down with France! (n)

There's no point moaning about it, these things should have been sorted weeks ago. Very unorganised the by the club from top to bottom really.

I watched the interview on the radio and he didn't sound confident about things at all. What I don't get is we could have just tied up early deals for players who we knew we had a chance to sign. Manuel Fernandes for example and Steven Pienaar obviously.

Now we are looking desperate. Names like Zigic, Love etc haven't been mentioned all summer and now they are priority, things haven't gone according to plan at all.

Thats some radio you have mate!(y)

Couldn't have put it better, yet that's pretty much all you and others do. Moan, moan [Poor language removed] moan.

I'm not one for losing my rag but I've pretty much lost it with some of you lot lately. The club isn't in a good way and all I read whenever I come on here is people picking holes in every little thing.

In times of crisis you work out who you can rely on, and frankly I wouldn't rely on you fairweather lot to piss on me if I was on fire.

If the club's as [Poor language removed] as so many of you seem to think why the feck come on here and spoil our day with your sniping day after day after day?

As it is we're not in a bad way because we've got bad men in charge of our club, if we were I would understand the constant nagging. In fact we've got bloody good men in charge of our club who are hell bent on doing the best for our club the right way, with honour and integrity. The very same men that have done wonders for the club over the past few years.

Whether it's through bad luck or bad preperation this summer hasn't gone to plan. I don't deny that and I doubt anyone at the club denies that. Do you think it's been through a lack of effort? So maybe in these difficult times, times when the club needs our support and backing, you can act with dignity yourselves and get on with the job of supporting this [Poor language removed] club of ours!

Absolutley Brilliant Post!(y)

I just want to predict the fact that we will sign at least six players before close of the window!

I am honestly extrealy saddened and disheartend by the reaction of "some die hard blues"

Some perspective please.
Let's not kid ourselves that anyone at the club actually gives a toss about anything that anyone writes on an Internet forum.
However frenzied the arguments become, nothing anyone says here is any more use than suggesting how to rearrange the deck-chairs on the Titanic.
The problem is (more accurately problems are) : we didn't design the Titanic, we think we have an idea who's captaining it but we don't know which direction it's heading in, and we're not sure if it's hit an iceberg or not.
In fact we can't even be certain there are any icebergs.
And our (only) great white hope is that ship is sold to (any) foreign owner before it reaches port.
You know there are days I consider following table tennis. *

*Posted after half an hour raiding 'Ghost of Dixie's' cellar of fine wines, so apologies for the overwrung metaphor.

Why are you saddened?

To be honest i fooled myself in to believing we had the calibre of fan who didnt turn on their own, be it the manager, the chairman and essentially the club. I thought Evertonians were better then pissing and moaning about something untill it actually happened.

Our club is built on pride and integrity and values that cant be found in glory hunting we keep our dignity at all times no matter how bad things get thats whatit means to be a true evertonian. I beleive we dont criticise our own, I beleive we dont call our own club pathethic, a shambels, or a joke. I beleive we wait untill we are up [Poor language removed] creek before we start whingeing.

Comments made on this forum recently have honestly left me scikened, no rebuttle, conspirocy theory, or any arguement will desueade me from that opinion.

We talk about nil satis nisi optimum - from what i have read in the past week some fans are very far away form being able to give the club the type of support it deserves. Anyone can buy a ticket but theres more to being an Evertonian then that.

Very well said.

what brings us to the point where its either moan moan moan about the club or moan moan moan about the moaners ?

lets take a step back , not moan , but anallize where we are , and why we are here.

at the end of last season we where in good shape , had a good squad , a manager about to sign a new contract with a new stadium on the horizon.

since then we have rid ourselves of a lot of players.
2 of which were first teamers but the others in all honesty just made up the numbers or played bit parts.

we have taken some steps to replace those shipped out by moving a few young players into the very talented but small first team squad.
without doubt it is potentially the best crop of youngsters we have had coming through for a long time to go with potentially the best group of players we have had for decades.

we were told there would be signings to improove the squad size and that the manager was about to sign his new contract.
the manager himself has also stated we desperatly need 6 or 7 players.

there has been no signings at all, players or manager.
surely if we take the club to its word that we need 6 or 7 players (none have come in ), and that moyes will sign (he hasnt) ,then surley it implies that the club have either lied or have cocked up ?
either way it understandably causes unrest and mis-trust in the club.

we were also told by the club that kirkby was "our only viable option " .
this then fell through.

if we take the club to its word that it was 'the only viable option' , then surely it implies the club are either liars or we are in trouble , as the only viable option is no longer an option ?
either way it understandably causes unrest and mis-trust in the club.

when the club makes statements like watch this space , moyes close to signing , aj not going anywhere , kirkby only option , big signings targeted , and then end up contradicting themselves , its just beats the club up more when its down and understandably causes unrest and mis-trust in the club.

the stadium collapse , the manager not signing , the ceo walking out , losing 2 key players + not having any transfers in , contradicting announcements , these are not ideal situations for everton fc and there's tragicaly been a hell of a lot of them.

i dont think its moaning or being disloyal if i say all these problems , all at the same time have bred unease and mis-trust and shouldnt be happening.

the club have to wake up and smell the coffee .

the fans need to cheer the players on and spend there money on merchandise , the players need to win games , the manager has to sign his contract and the club has to sign atleast 2 players to make up for aj and carsley.
lastly the club also has to stop making contradicting anouncements

it may not be all that needs doing , but its a bloody good place to start.

the chairman and manager have to get this ball rolling LIKE NOW as the buck does stop with them!

So where supposed to be positive when things are going right but we can't be negative when things quite clearly aren't going well. What's the point in having a forum then? It would be [Poor language removed], people pretending that things are all good and where in a better situation than other clubs.

The problem is we aren't. We are missing key players, we have a tiny squad, we are depending on young kids, players are playing out of position and we have signed [Poor language removed] all. We are the most unorganised club at the moment, if there's a club in a worse situation in the League please tell me.

People are claiming the fans that are worried and being negative aren't supporting the club, its bollocks to be honest. I support the team first and foremost and at the moment they are being let down as well, David Moyes has said this himself. They worked there socks off last season getting us into Europe and when they needed help no one has been brought in to do this. We’ve lost 7 players, we’ve had a long time to replace them and as of yet, 10 days to go we still haven’t.

I want my club run properly, as of this moment in time it isn’t being. We are unorganised and fans aren’t happy about it, and rightly so.

Great post, its something that I wouldnt expect from Evertonians had I not engaged in the use of Everton football forums :(

Moyes has now said that we were going to top quality targets but now its too late that we'll have to settle for less, but he still reckons 5 or 6, which I think is fantastic. He has also previously said, well some sources say, that he was pissed off with some agents about [Poor language removed], which could well be the reason for 'watch this space', with nothing to watch.

I dont think this club is a joke, pathetic or anything near that. I believe that Kenwright has given Moyes as much funds as he could because he wants this club to be the best in the world, like all of us do. And I also believe that Moyes has been working his [Poor language removed] ass off, like he has day in, day out, since he has been with Everton, to get some brilliant signings in. Unfortunately hes now going to have to lower his standards so we can be at the same level we were last season. If we got Mbia to replace Carsley and Zigic, or whoever to replace Johnson, then how is that not a really good improvement on the squad that finished 5th last season?

Come on Everton supporters, lets SUPPORT. Even if there were some errors made at boardroom level, they're certainly trying their best.
