Moyes still looking to do some business

I think I heard someone say on the football league show say that the chairman said Ince and Phillips are not for sale

I would imagine all Blackpool players will be sale for mate.

They just can not afford to refuse decent offers although I doubt very much we'd be able to make an offer high enough.

They don't really have any financial problems though, and the sort of money that you're talking about, we don't have unfortunately so I doubt either one of them will be coming here.

I believe we got 12/15m for Rodwell, 1m for Cahill and 2m for Yobo. We spent 4.5m on peanuts and 5.3m for Kevin. So i believe that since we didn't need to sell this year that Moyes will be given this money. He probably has in the region of 5m left to spend. The wage bill also in the last year has been reduced considerably by sales. So maybe another striker and cover for Baines. Whether through loan signings or permanent deals. I believe personally we need 3 more players and i would expect us to at least sign 2 more players before deadline day.

Hope not. Thankfully id say its Jarg.

I cant see us doing much lads, id say a loan for numbers.

I think we'll manage at least a couple, one loan & one permanent, just hoping that the permanent isn't Doyle.

Still got a concern that Owen hasn't signed for anyone yet......

The Daily Mirror must be the most inappropriately named newspaper ever, given their inability to reflect any sort of reality.

They don't even know who plays for us currently (see the Sunday Mirror report yesterday - McFadden playing for us? Heitinga in Prem Team of the Week despite playing 7 minutes in two games?), so I really doubt they have a clue who we are about to sign.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question but on pay as you play deals, do you get paid if you're on the bench or purely only if you actually get on the pitch?

If it was that case then i would gladly take on Owen. We would have Jelavic and Mirallas as our main strikers, Vellios as our back up striker and then if we were really struggling we could call on Owen. It's a squad game after all and we have struggled in the goals department and what does Owen guarantee? Goals.

17 goals in 52 for United might not seem like much but if you did it by minutes he played i am sure it would be a pretty decent return.

It would also mean that we would still have a fair amount of money to spend + one more player to the team without overpaying.

However if we get Niang he wouldn't be needed.

You're onto something here. 5 goals in 920 minutes of Premier League action for United overall. That works out at roughly a goal every 180 minutes (2 games).

That said, it's Michael Owen.

Not sure about the bench/pitch thing, but pay per play deals are still contacts where the player would be on a basic base rate.

So essentially, we would still be paying the player X per week, with add-ons based on appearances and goals.
