If they let him stay for his last year how much do they give him, how much control to they give Moyes over transfers if he is gone in 12 months?

Ideally TFG make a decision either go he’s here for long term or you part ways now…

If it's accepted he's 'gone in 12 months' then he'll have no authority next season.
 
I have great respect for him for coming back eradicating relegation last season pretty quickly, with some nice wins some lovely football, this season I’ve fluctuated some mad home defeats , two early cup exits when both trophies seemed very attainable, some fantastic away wins Man Utd/Villa/Bournemouth/Forest but an inability to take 1 point off a truly average Liverpool and falling behind the likes of Brentford Bournemouth whilst losing to rubbish like west ham have changed my mind, with the quality of manager available in the summer I don’t think we can afford to sit on our hands, a club that has done nothing for 32 years has to be proactive …even league one Leicester have done things in the last 10yrs that we can only dream about
 
I've said go, thanks for getting us back to being a proper footballing team, but we need more we need a manager that's more progressive in my view, one that plays more on the front foot and less adverse to playing younger players. I know @Eggs will argue this point with me but if I was a young up and coming footballer, I would not be coming to Everton right now because simply I want to play not sat there for months on end rotting on the bench. The argument that Moyes only picks players he trusts and that show good form in training goes out the window when you see the likes of Mykolenko's and McNeil sleepwalking through games and get continually picked. Who of us couldn't have picked that team yesterday, it's always the same players unless they are injured, nothing changes even after a run of bad results. When there are changes understandably the players look stale, unready and let's be right that showed in our two pathetic performances in both cups, out first time of asking. Questions need asking about our recruitment teams performance in the last two transfer windows, Dewsbury Hall and Grealish it could be said are our only successes, are they communicating with Moyes ? Because most of their picks have hardly been used by David during the season, that's a lot of money that has been largely wasted this season and he as a club can not afford to be that wasteful. Whose to say they won't get better in the future, but we needed them now. Sorry it's so long winded, but I like Moyes but he is so stubborn I feel at times it works against him and the club.

Doesn't surprise me, That Presser on Friday and yesterdays 'whatever it was gameplan' really done me.
The performance looked like it was a carry on from Friday.. And Than sounding like he was trying to tap up Soucek. Not a Good look.

If I was an outsider I would probably say something has gone amiss there..

In a way I wish we had another game against West ham just to see if he went for O'Brien again, that would show a hell of a lot on tactical Ignorance.

A bad week that he needs to take ownership for..

Liverpool practically spent our entire "warchest" on each new player they recruited (to a league winning side). I think we mostly matched them last week and they only beat us by the odd goal. I don't know for certain what our recruitment process is and who is responsible for each part of that tbh, maybe you do. Priorities, availability and budget rarely align perfectly..... and certainly not over just one summer window. Apparently, we have the 2nd best away form in the league, with a squad that is valued firmly bottom half by most metrics and with some pretty glaring legacy gaps in the squad remaining. I think that is something we can build on, and a far more comfortable position than we have had for years. I don't thing anyone seriously thought we would be challenging for top 6 this year..... but having got us within sniffing distance, some now think we should've easily achieved it.

Well, my targets for him to hit have been achievable:

  • get us top 10 he should be allowed to see out his contract
  • if that top 10 placing means as high as a European qualification then he's earned an extension for another season on top of his current contract ending next season
  • drop into the bottom half and barely move us on beyond Dyche's 'points reduction season' - which would have got us as high as joint 11th on 48 points - and he should be shown the door
His spending in the context of what's happened here for years was healthy, but only if there's a desire to integrate the players brought into the first team squad - which he hasn't achieved.

The media think that Moyes getting a contract extension is a no brainer. Some fans who have limited ambitions because they've been gripped by relegation fears for a few seasons will lap that up all day and back Moyes 100%. The truth of the matter is that Moyes hasn't earned the right to anything here other than (maybe) seeing his contract out after stabilising the situation. We need ambitions or this is just going to end in tears as stagnation occurs. The signs are already there that Moyes' ways will see us frustrated.

I find results almost beside the point at this stage. By now, everyone knows what they're going to get with Moyes, whether he loses a few or wins a few. The swing voters are the ones vacillating.

At this stage, you are either a conviction Moyes supporter or a conviction Moyes-out person. If we win tonight, by some minor miracle, I'll be delighted. But not a chance I'd want to keep him. Let's face it, if we win tonight we'll follow up with a lame loss at Palace or whoever. By now, we know what we are going to get, if not quite the order in which we'll get it.

And thats the issue in a nutshell. We all know how the game tonight Will go. Would love to be surprised but Moyes will make it a horrible game, try to nullify city but we will ultimately be punished for our own lack of ambition again.

City in title race mode now but still not the same team they were. Really weak in midfield and defense at times if you get at them.
