Our record against the top sides has been steadily improving lately. I think we were second last season in a head to head against the top 7???

Not many of them beat us at Goodison these days. In fact next to no-one beats us at Goodison these days.

What is it now, 7 defeats in our last 50 games home & away?

COYB!!!

(OP - stick your negative tripe up your hoop (y) )

But it also an undeniable one. Moyes has built a team that can reach the top six on a fairly consistent basis, a team that can and has beaten the big names at Goodison. But it's also the same team that drops points at home to the likes of Norwich and has never won a league game at any of those aforementioned teams on any kind of a regular basis. It's a conundrum that, to me, has a lot of its root cause in that Moyes can't seem to motivate the players enough to come through in those games -- the 4-4 at United and the 2-2 at Arsenal maybe two examples of the opposite -- or he employs overly negative tactics to try to nick a point and still ends up losing.
Winning at those teams at least once or twice during his tenure here and this discussion isn't even being held.

All teams win some games and don't win others.

Picking four grounds out of the 50 odd we've played in and saying we haven't won any games there, doesn't say anything.

Yay another... I hate Moyes... thread, because sometimes 100's just aren't enough.
This thread isn't even worthy of post, just a thumbs up on one of the many other peoples posts who have pointed out this
stat and regurgitated it like they have just found the revelation that will finally bury the pathetic manager that we have.

Sky 4 by the way doesn't even exist, if it did it would be City, United, Chelsea and Spurs or Arsenal. We've done at least two of those.

Its getting quite tedious now, I get that people want Moyes out, and that they think he's worse than Kenwright, and that he lets us down every season fighting for europe with no money, but seriously, do you lot have to make a new thread every single time you come up with something to slate him over? In this case, its not even something new.

Its like me starting a thread saying Moyes is quite good in the league, then another saying Moyes is quite good at transfers ffs, then another syaing he's great because he's the best Scottish manager called David Moyes to take over Everton since the 1980's.. Its true.. but so what????.

Now can we have a thread about how poor we are against the poor teams, because that one is even more stupid.

Anyway back to Moyes and his terrible record against the big teams.

This season:

Won

Man United
Spurs
Manchester City

Draw
Liverpool
Arsenal
Manchester City
Spurs

Lost
Chelsea
Man United

Shocking Moyes out!

But one would expect, given the teams Moyes has been able to build, that we would have won at least one frigging away league game at one of those grounds in the last 11 years. There is no such thing as the law of averages, so you tell me why we're winless at those grounds over the last 11-plus seasons.

Seriously, who cares about that today of all days? We've got our biggest game of the season tonight & you want to harp on about some meaningless stat?

We've only lost 5 games all season , only United & City have lost less (4), revel in that.

As a Jew, I think the only reasonable answer is that its clearly because of the Jews..

We've only lost 7 of our last 50 league games, going back to last January - which is an amazing stat.

How many draws, though? And against teams, at home, we should be spanking?
All well and good to point out we've beaten City, Spurs and United at home this season. The team Moyes has built is good enough to do that. But those results lose a fair bit of their lustre when you toss in the home draws vs. Newcastle, Norwich, Swansea and Villa and the away losses at Reading and Norwich and road draws at QPR, Wigan and Southampton. Not saying we would have won all of those, but a team as good as this one shouldn't be dropping as many points as it has to teams far below them in the table.

I am, trust me. I'm not revelling as much in the 13 draws, though, many of those in games we should have taken the three points. We could and should be higher than sixth. Just my opinion, mind.
