The Portuguese league is like a glorified SPL

its better than that...

The SPL have only ever had Rangers or Celtic get anywere in Europe

In Portugal Porto,Benefica, Spoting CP and Braga have all been in European Cup finals in recent history.

Also take into account the number of quality players that come out of that league and move on to Europe, no such thing happens in SPL.

The Portuguese league is miles ahead of the SPL.

Please not Stubbs, please not Stubbs, please not Stubbs, please not Stubbs, please not Stubbs x1000

Also, anyone who calls the Portuguese league a glorified version of the Scottish league is a cretin. There's yet another different Portuguese team in the Champions League next season (Pacos de Ferreira).

Does it not bother anyone that if Martinez does not get top job at Everton he might be number two at man city?

Not good enough me thinks.

Also my gut says no news is good news.

That's not true now, is it? Not only are Porto and Benfica as good as most teams in the Premier League (can't say the same for Celtic, nor could we for Rangers), they also have quality teams such as Braga and Sporting Lisbon who can more than hold their own in European competition. This year some team called Pacos de Ferreira finished third and play in the Europa League next season... never heard of them like but shows it's not just a two-three hours race for Euro slots in their league.

Is it at all possible that Martinez is waiting to see what happens with Pellegrini at City, in order to discover whether the number two spot becomes available? Could that be why the decision is taking so long?

Just mixing the pot.

I think winning stuff ANYWHERE should help your case when applying for a job at another club

We need someone with a winning mentality

The Everton job is more of a puller then a number 2 at City.
