Moyes or The Board?

Player Valuation: £1m
During Moyes's reign I was always very skeptical at how good he was. Don't get me wrong, he has been pushing Everton above our weight - but many teams are doing that not just us.

However he always took ages to sign someone in the window, and missed out on major transfer targets. Always saying "I'm looking for the right player" yada yada.

But now he's at Manchester United, he's saying the exact same thing and they're one of the richest clubs who could probably afford anyone they want.

2 weeks in the window and Martinez has signed 4 players - they're not world beaters, but our squad is looking much better.

So was Moyes just too slow? Or was it all to do with the board not giving him money until the last few weeks - as suggested in many other threads...

There's nothing in it either way, for ONCE we actually have some funds available early and so far there's nothing to suggest we havnt signed flops!

These moyes threads are getting a bit tiresome. Any reason to try and have a digg. Look he did well, did things his way and now he's gone, move on ffs

There's nothing that says clubs only do good business in the first two weeks of the window. Perhaps we should wait until it's closed to have this conversation.

I'd rather we took our time and got the right players. So although were singing some players no one knows if they'll be a success. If they are then that's the time I get excited.

The transfer markets is approached like a jarg game of top trumps now where lids edit their Pro Evo with the new players and spend too much time making formations with the new players.

Put me down as meh.

I agree with Chico here.

Also, it's probably a combination of both having a bit more cash due to BT, and also a differing style of management. Let's not forget, Moyes did a good job and all this does smack a bit of 'I never really liked him anyway". Obviously, most of us did like him so remember that.

Equally, lets get behind our new guy. David doesn't live here anymore.

Martinez has brought 3 players he knows very well, very cheaply. And one he's probably kept an eye on for a while, and bagged him because of his connections now he's at Everton.

Moyes was starting from fresh and a had to be spot on with his signings due the money problem.

I'm sure he could've bought X player on the cheap, but ended up waiting and searching a longer time to get better players for the same price. He was also building a squad.

Martinez isn't building, he's wanted to add and take a step forward at the moment.

I'm not gonna get into ****ging of moyes coz I'm very greatfull for what he did at the club, but I did get very frustrated at his transfer dealings, mostly left last minute. But he did buy sum cracking players for good fees.

To be fair Bob Martin is signing players he knows. Are they good enough, only time will tell. As for the kid on loan I know nothing about him apart from the fact he is highly rated. Will wait and see if he is.

David Moyes is many things.

An infuriating, dour bellend he is.

Poor in the transfer market he is not, the ginger knows a player.

All the player's Bobby M has has signed he knows from wigan or has connections to the club. ( I'm sure I read he has barca links)
and take last season for example we couldn't buy anyone in till rodwell was signed, this year money was avalible
