Alright lads and lasses, villa fan in peace here, just wondering if there are any noises coming out of your club regarding us getting Moyes? Haven't seen anything in any papers or anything, it all seems to be the usual 'ITK' nonsense but one or two of the folks going on about it on twitter have been bang on in the past. Anything in it?
Can't see it mate. Respect your club and the authentic fans, but at this moment in time, It would be a step backwards for Moyes.
He would need to rebuild the team completely with no guarantee that his job would be safe if it all went tits up.
No way imo.

Our ITKs say NO; your ITKs say YES. This is a clash of Large Hadron Collider proportions here...we may get to witness the Higgs Bosun at last.

It's complete nonsense mate. No offence to Villa but there's absolutely nothing to gain from going to Villa considering the state your club is in financially, you've finished below us repeatedly over the last few years and David Moyes himself has completely rejected the Villa job at least five times in the last two months, the latest being last week.

It's obviously rubbish if you think about it - you'd have to pay mad compensation for a start, then offer Moyes twice what he's on here, which would make him one of the highest paid managers in England. And even then Moyes would have to acknowledge he wouldn't get any transfer pot whatsoever and have exactly the same prospects in the league (or less) than he would at Everton - with massively decreased job security under Lerner.

To be blunt, prepare yourself for a few apparent Villa ITK's to delete Twitter accounts and mysteriously disappear in the next few days.

EDIT: Oh, AND Moyes would be taking a job as third choice manager behind Benitez and Martinez... yeah I'm sure that appeals to his ego ^^

No mate. The Villa make-believe ITK's got mutually annihilated.

They're skint-o-mundo. SKINT.

We had a proper bell on last night, mate, so please excuse any coldness.

As a villa fan, you probably wouldn't know, but we've actually got a couple of bonefide, ITK blokes on here.

We totally get how giddy you would be to get Moyes - our clubs are in the same, yet different, times, at the mo (i.e. both struggling for funds, but for different reasons,) - he is a brilliant manager for working on a budget.

Our guys, though, have heard nothing - which they most certainly would have - so, it's a no go for you.

Who else do you have in the running?

The Villa forums were full of itk's last night claiming that an announcement would be made today @ 15.00 hrs confirming Moyes appointment as the new Villa manager.
You don't need any one on here to tell you it's a no goer, look at the drifting odds on the betting sites.
Move on nothing to see here mate.

The club's not in too bad a shape financially speaking, the big problem is the wage bill compared to the turnover, which is absolutely ridiculous thanks to MON's somewhat generous approach to player contracts! We've managed to shift a fair bit of deadwood out now, bound to be a fair few more sales over the summer though. I've heard the compensation would be around £7 million, a lot to pay obviously but apparently Lerner is a big admirer of DM and tried to get him last year before we signed Houllier, but Kenwright said no point blank, wouldn't be surprised to see Lerner pay it though, he's been happy to invest cash when needed so far (e.g. Bent signing).

It's difficult to tell where DM is on Lerner's list of choices, I get the impression that he's got a fair few irons in the fire. From what I can tell, the Martinez thing only came out in the press because Dave Whelan started shouting his mouth off about it. Lerner normally conducts his business quietly, so I wouldn't be too surprised if he's had negotiations with several clubs (including your own, perhaps) that have just been kept quiet.

It's always difficult to know which ITK's are actually accurate. The main one over on VillaTalk broke the Houllier appointment and Bent signing a good few days before either happened, and well before the mainstream media cottoned on, which would suggest they know what they're talking about, but I'd imagine your ITK's would know something of it if a deal was happening.

Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to other targets mate! Lerner plays his hand so close to his chest that most of the time stuff doesn't get leaked until he wants it to. The problem with him being so quiet though is that it leaves the journos free to make up whatever ****e they like, which is why in the last week we've been 'on the verge of appointing' McClaren, Ranieri, Martinez, Benitez, Moyes, Coyle, McLeish, Grayson, Hughes, even Wenger at one point!

Obvious nonsense mate. Only thing that makes me think Moyes is that he's the only one the ITK's are on about, even when the media was linking us to the others there was nothing coming from the ITK's to support it, even a couple of former villa players have mentioned Moyes on twitter, assuming the accounts are real of course.

Tough being a football fan sometimes!

TOTALLY agree with that, mate.

Interesting mate.

We actually know 100% that LCAB (our ITK) is 100% accurate. And has proven as such over not just months, actual years. He's unconcerned, so everyone on here is completely unconcerned.

Moyes would only leave us for a club who could challenge for honours, and with the greatest of respect to Aston Villa you're as far away from that as we are. There's literally no incentive for him to move, including financially, as I massively doubt Lerner will stump up the money needed for Moyes considering, as you say, you're actually cutting your wage bill out of necessity.

It's a non-starter mate. If it were Spurs Moyes was linked with, it'd be a different story and I'd be concerned.
