Moyes - IN or OUT ?

How significant is finishing above the red side two seasons in a row?

He's just done that thing, christ knows where it will land, but it's in the air, for seemingly weeks, is that our ball still?

Until it's lost, yes I suppose it is. But you're way wide of the mark if you reckon that the ball spends enough time 'lost' in the air, to make a meaningful difference to any possession stats. Albeit the player in question, should leave his 'diagonal' on the bleeding training ground.

That'll still be classed as being in possession of the ball 'mate', if it reaches it's intended target.

Are you suggesting that our possession stats could be skewed by those 3 million balls we hit into Earths orbit during the game like? haha

What about if jags kicks it out of the stadium and because we can only afford one ball steve round has to go and get it. Are we still in possession.?

I'm tempted to keep it going but I can't.

I was only messing mate.

Hasn't he said he's waiting until the end of the season?

Think your mind is made up mate.

Pretty much mate, Just think it's slightly disrespectful to the club what he is doing, But i can also understand why he is doing it, And that it happens in football. I am just hoping his mind is made up on what he is doing so we can hurry up and either find a replacement or start plans for next season as soon as possible.

My thoughts on Moyes can be summed up thusly:

Jean-Baptiste Mouron (according to Ripley, anyway) served 100 years as a galley slave. The thought of liberation frightened him. I am sure this inspired the ‘Brooks’ character in Shawshank.

There’s a little poem attributed to J-BM:

My very chains and I grew friends,
So much a long communion tends
To make us what we are: - even I
Regained my freedom with a sigh.

I'll get me coat...

Its what we do, get the ball kick out of the stadium, get the ball kick it out of the stadium... ahhh if only we were Liverpool so we could pass it around our defense all day then go home with a high possession rating and no points.

I can't really believe anyone wants Moyes to leave. He has had to sell to buy and with 6 games to go we are within 4 points of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham and 3 off a Champions League spot. Moyes has the respect of the current players, he's able to spot and bring in players who develop into quality players under him and he does it in a calm and considered manner. Would i sacrifice an FA Cup win for everything Moyes brings to this club, not a chance. Without Moyes, key players leave. Could the next manager do what Moyes has done and spend that money wisely? If he doesn't there isn't anymore money and this club could find itself in consistent relegation battles very quickly. I was right behind the goal that Wigan scored their 3 goals in and at the end of the game i was gutted. It was a real chance to win something. But in the grand scheme of things do i really care about the FA Cup more than our league position? No. I'd prefer to be finishing 4th, 5th and 6th in the league every year than winning an FA Cup once in a blue moon. Wenger was right when he said qualifying for the Champions League was the third most important aspect of his season, after the Premier League title and Champions League.

Winning the FA Cup would give the supporters a boost and a short term high. Long term it's fairly meaningless. Qualifying for the Champions League means seriously increased revenue, an increased profile for the football club throughout the world and a club that could finally be attractive to a serious investor.

If i were Moyes, and there was no fresh investment for next season and possibly no European football, i'd feel that i'd taken the club as far as i can and continuing in the job would be a little like ground hog day. He's waited for some proper fresh investment for a long time.

/thread. great post. Covers everything basically, would have repped
