Moyes - IN or OUT ?

How significant is finishing above the red side two seasons in a row?

I think it'll take an idiot to take this squad and club to 14th within a few years mate.

This team, yeah. It's as good as the table says it is. But it's aging and we're sell to buy. You just need a few bad transfers and we'll be bang midtable.

I don't think we're in any danger of relegation or out but I think we're doing as well in the league as we can with the financial constraints. A good manager will keep us there, an average one in the market will see us drop to fulham and west brom teritority.

I think that's a bit harsh. Of course we went a stretch of games where we couldn't get going for whatever reason, but I think recently we've had a good mix of short ball and long ball build up play. When we have players like Fellaini and Anichebe up front we would be silly not to hit it long from time to time if there are no short passes available.

Just because he can get them to up their game against the likes of City and Spurs etc. I am sick and tired of watching us when we play the wigans and norwichs etc it every season. He does not have the ability or tactical nous to play knock out football. He insists on defending 1-0 leads regardless of how early in a game we go ahead and i'm bored of it.

We have some good footballers in that squad yet we bypass them for a kick up the park hoping for a knockdown. Anyway my stance on him is firm, I keep repeating myself but i think it's disgusting and disrespectful to everton FC what he's doing over this contract and he's completely lost my respect and for that reason I just want him to leave.

Would your mind change if we finished top 4?

No guarantees either way of course. I dunnon if it would be that drastic, provided the players already in the squad played to their level and not too many players left.

I just don't think any of the other options would improve much on what Moyes has done. If someone like Klopp was waiting in the wings, I'd say go for it, but there's no one of that calibre available at the moment

Fair point

I thought some of the passing on saturday was lovely. Some of the best football I've seen the team play this season

easy to do when the opposition are totally devoid of any confidence and look resigned to already being relegated

Our football has been lovely at times under Moyes. It really has. Not just this year, either. We've always had patches of lovely stuff.

There's just been patches of the other stuff, too.

Wanted him out after the Wigan game but that was a knee jerk reaction. We couldn't get a better manager; people say he's negative/too defensive but he's not, he does what he needs to do to get the best out of the team. People seem to forget some of the attacking football we've played this season.

I don't trust Moyes in cups. That includes play off games for the CL. He's a fine league manager but incapable of getting players to raise their games for one off matches.

We finish 4th and we need a new manager more than ever to stop another dinamo bucharest situation.

I don't see us as having an ageing side myself. I think the balance is about right and could be even slightly weighted to younger players if Moyes was minded that way.

I agree we'd likely see a drop off in league terms. Moyes is exactly what we need league wise. It's not always pretty but that's not the end of the world.

Yeah, I still want tins!

Fair point as well, but it does kind of negate your point about always not turning up against the "lesser" teams

No mate it doesn't, QPR are gone and they know it. Teams around them that actually have a bit of fight left in them have been taking points off us left right and centre this year.

I think you'll find our results against the lesser teams will speak for themselves actually.
