Moyes "clarifies" contract position

But, if that's the case, that makes his position nonsensical. It means he can only arrive at one decision if he makes an early one based on players feeling destabilised: to stay put. If he chose mid-season to say he'd decided to go then it'd destabilise things even more!

You know he wont do that.

Agendas EVERYWHERE.

He's being illogical. I dont think there's any shadow of doubt he'll sign up again. The point I was raising is that he's got no position of authority in seeking to get a settled squad together if he's telling everyone he might not be around either. If he's telling his players the opposite is the case, then fair enough. But going on his public comments you have to ask where he gets off in making other statements about wanting to rebuild and move forward. Vague statements like this undermine all that.

He's probably just a bit thick in his use of language, tbf.

At no point did he say he was leaving.

Hes said hes committed, but still people see an issue.

IM OWT.

He's probably being a bit loose in his language and causing confusion where none needs to be. Sometimes Scots do that. I've noticed they use a lot of past-tense words in sentences which confuse the issue they're talking about. They do that a lot...and have lots of ginger hair, obviously.

Have I gone back in time? Isn't this exactly what happened last time?

Are we playing the will he won't he game?

just to note in the history of EFC Davie has spent more money than any other manager so that shows the support he has had from the board, I am talking about gross spend here not net

does anyone think he'll leave if we qualify for europa? i won't be jumping up for joy when he eventually leaves but i don't think i'd be massively dissapointed if it were at the end of the current season. there's something different about us this year, we're playing lovely attractive attacking football, it does seem a little like one last roll of the dice from nothing. maybe it's just a sence of [Poor language removed] it, i'm gunna try and really do something in my final year as of moyes' view. obviously league cup wasn't on his agenda but i have no problem with the team he picked.

serious question though, he's done a brilliant job, but what team which is better than us will take him as a manager? would have to be abroad IMO. mind you, moyes has made us the great team we are atm and with more funding at a team like sunderland he could make them into a top 6 team as well

But he's been here longer, and inflation over time anyway will dictate recent bosses will have spent more, stands to reason.

I dont think he's been backed, not at all. But he puts up with it - which is a criticism, because he's short changing supporters by keeping the whole stinking edifice upright.

If AVB's Spurs are faltering around Xmas I could possibly see him go there.

There doesn't seem any other team 'appropiate'. QPR could pay him more, but people would question his motivations.

It must have rankled Moyes over the summer when his brand of football was criticised, ironically so far this season we've played mostly good stuff. Certainly the best of his reign.
