Moyes "clarifies" contract position

I might add I don't think the board are as arsed as one might think given the whole Moyesiah thing.

When Kenwright and Moyes were on the SKY sofa together I felt there was more than a whiff of paving the way for the next manager. Bill was very nice about Davey but in an "mot'd for 12 months, excellent runner, FSH, comes with 3 months warrantee" sort of way.

Davey was similarly profuse saying what a great fella to work for Bill was and he'd recommend him to any aspiring manager!!

The idea a gentlemans agreement has been made that this is his last season wouldn't surprise me.

Or me. I think he stuck around last time hoping for a takeover.

Doesn't leave him much scope for asking players to commit to the future by extending their contracts does it? I seem to recall just lately (Duffy?) he was pressuring for a signed contract from a player.

He makes no sense to me at times. Whether it's about transfer funds or what constitutes success or his own contract - he's very vague. For someone with a reputation for speaking his mind he doesn't half hedge his bets.

I think you've nailed it there Ste and I reckon it's the only thing that'll keep him here this time round.

It's all well and good saying that but we get to that question again...where will he go that's a better proposition than Everton on his current wages? Unless one of the top 4 clubs comes knocking and that isn't on the horizon at the moment then I can't see where he can go that's going to be a step up from us.

For most of us he wont get a better/bigger job. In his mind....... Who knows how highly he rates himself or how he thinks the football world percieves him?

It's a swap for Mourinho then, he said he'd manage any english club and only davey is capable of stepping up to the madrid hot seat with his extensive trophy laden CV.

I think eventually the preoccupation with "sexy" foreign managers will fall away and the "legend" of Moyes will register with one of them and they'll take a gamble.

There's a massive bandwagon of support and goodwill for Moyes among neutrals similar to the Curbishley for England nonsense and personally I reckon he's destined for the same fate.

Moyes in Looking out for David moyes shocker while we have to go along with Spineless bills approach , that we the fans/The Club wait it out and see what moysiah has install for himself ....

I rate him a tad higher than curbishley though to be fair. Curbs never had a consistently top 8 prem team. For all moyes lack of silverware and bottling big games he still has done a decent job as a premier league manager.
