Moyes: a personal watershed is upon him

Well, in terms of my opinion of him.

I'd all but given up on him, sick of his tired, negative and turgid brand of football that he serves up most of the time. I was also fed up of him seeming to care more about workhorse players rather than enticing the best out of the (alleged) flair players, and being too rigid.

But, the current transfer shenanigans have given me hope that the old dog wants to learn new tricks....if he pulls off the signings of either of the 2 lads currently being touted, then it shows promise. Young, exciting players who seemingly know how to move forward and take a game to the opposition. If he were to snaffle BOTH of them, well I'd be eating my hat (if I had one).

Should he come up trumps with at least one of them, then I'd be prepared to give Moyes the chance. He'd deserve it. Plus, as a loyal fan, it'd be my place to do so. Through thick and thin and all that...

But, if he lets them both slips through his fingers then it would be extremely worrying. Perhaps the dithering Davey tag will have too much weight to dismiss as people's agenda against him. He rarely seems to dither when it comes to defenders, rookie goalies etc.....

And, wo betide he fails to snag these 2 cats and instead brings in dross such as Adam....

That would see me invest my life savings in bleach. And there would be no going back for me til Moyes went.

Here's hoping that this particular Blue's opinion on our gaffer experiences a renaissance in the coming days. Ive got my fingers well and truly crossed.

Agreed. Nice that we're in for players like Niang and Mirallas. We need that flair and goalscoring threat to go with Jelavic and youth for the long term and he's looking to bring that in, fair play.

Let's hope Arsenal and Spurs etc don't take them all so we have to make do with 28+ year olds, like.

I see your logic, but can we hold fire on this belief that these players would be guaranteed successes in the Premier League?

Good post mate, was thinking about this the other day. If both Niang and Mirallas were to come here then it would be exciting, and we'd have one of our strongest squads in years and years.

It's not about them being a guaranteed success - and that's my whole point.

Taking a punt on either of them - let alone both - shows balls. It shows someone willing to take a gamble. And Moyes has been far too culpable in recent years of doing exactly the opposite, and playing safe. Even when he had attacking g options, he seemed to stifle them in preference to keeping things tight.

I'd love the old sod to go out and grab some younger, forward-minded prospects and give them a chance to strut their stuff.

I think my opinion on Moyes is pretty well understood around here, so I won't go on a barrage...

I just want him to prove me wrong and show me up as being a clueless beaut, can't see it though...I really can't.

How is an unchallenged man on an impossibly cushy wage going to break his trends of running his underperforming favourites into the ground and having us bend over to relegation fodder at Goodison again? It's been the same old for four seasons straight now, and a manager who's frequently touted as the successor to Alex Ferguson should have put a handle on it.

He's made himself a f*cking cracking little squad here (his transfer nouse his pretty much stellar) but I just feel like he doesn't have a clue on how to get the best out of it.

Yeah, we were sh*t for a long time before he came along, doesn't mean he's above dissent or criticism.

Come on Davey, show me up...it'd only be good for Everton Football Club to prove someone like myself wrong.

Fair enough.

As long as people don't use this 'gamble' as a stick to beat Moyes with if they turn out to be as shiit as Bilyaletdinov.

what i dont understand is that, if we were to buy someone like niang, i'm guessing he'll be 2nd choice behind jelavic and therefore will get a fair few performances at 17/18 years old. why does moyes seem to give youngsters who weren't brought through our academy, more games than those who had. i know he paid a high fee for fellaini, but at the start when he wasn't exactly amazing, he kept him in the team and played him into form. however, someone like rodwell or barkley, he hasn't seemed to have done that, just played them every now and then, even when they showed more potential than fellaini did when he 1st came here.

To be fair even people who love Barkley on here like Xavi have said that his work rate isn't up to scratch.

was thinking similar thing other day in terms of some sort of water shed moment for moyes , these two players were linked with do look the exiting types , maybe moyes thinks this is something he needs to ad to his locker if he is to expand overall as manger , yes he can do organized effective and hard to beat all day long, but is it that lacking of Real Commitment to flair and excitement in his teams that have given people a certain view of him (even why job offers have passed him by) that he may now looking to change

Moyes is shot to ****. He's a spent force.

He accepted the agenda in 2009 of managed decline and is just happy to rearrange the deckchairs on the Titanic as long as he's getting a pat on the head from the media and is banging £3.5M (soon to rise to £4M) into his bank account every year.

No respect for him now whatsover. And that's from someone who backed him all the way up until a couple of years back. He's as repulsive to me now as that reptile Smith who he suceeded...and that's something I never thought I'd say.
