i cant see any players coming in this week though , let alone players of enough quality to raise our level.

The balance of the team was awful yesterday, Championship standard in my opinion. If we have Valente/Baines on the left wing we will get nowhere and Yakubu and Osman don't work.

We'll lose to West Brom if that team plays, I guarantee it.

well with the 'proven' players available the only balance we can get is with moyes revolutionary 7-2-1 formation with himself in defence.

The Moutinho deal is not going to happen, we've missed the boat on that one. M'Bia is more likely, as he's just on his way back from China and hasn't been in Rennes in quite a while. It wouldn't surprise me if we sign him and possibly a couple of other journeymen like Smith, none of whom will make a huge difference in the grand scheme.

To be honest, the players should have been signed back in July. We probably should deal with it and lower our expectations for the season. It's true that we have a similar squad to last season, but the fact is that every other team has improved their squad. I guarantee we will not improve on last season with our current squad. It's terrible to think that had we our house iin order at the end of last season, we'd have signed 4 or 5 quality players, thrashed Rovers yesterday and be looking forward to challenging with Liverpool & Arsenal for 4th. I'm already looking forward to season 09/10 to be honest.

Suddenly the Merseyside outfit have sent a delegation to Portugal to close out the Joao Moutinho saga. And they're also about to finalise a season-long loan for Juventus midfield man Tiago. While looking at Freddie Ljungberg, who did very little at West Ham last season to justify his 85 grand a week salary... so he must obviously be the answer.

You know it had to be bad if West Ham were willing to stump up enough money to buy him out of his contract.

I could see him in the Middle East or MLS soon.
