Moutinho has a £19.7m buy-out clause in his contract but this can only be exercised before 15 June each year.

If that price is met after this date then certain requirements have to be met for any deal to go through.

Jeez...That's a shed load of cash for any club to be forking out, let only Everton!
Well if the rumour is correct and we've offered them £19.7m and Sporting don't accept, then we know sporting are being greedy bastards ...

We just offered 19M for one of their players and it's not enough for them?

They want 23M????

Ok, let 'em hold out for that extra 4M for the next club that comes around. Surely Real Madrid, AC Milan, or some of the other usual suspects will come in for a bid at that amount.

Sure they don't have to sell. Sure they "value" their player at 23M. Guess what Sporting? The player's value is what someone is willing to pay for it and right now, barring any other suitors, it's 19M, not the 23M they seem to think.

Everton need to tell 'em to take it or leave it and then move on.

Sporting's obviously running the risk of not getting their "valuation" of him next time around if they don't sell him to us.

Reminds me of a certain player at Zenit St. Petersburg...

I definitely wouldn't rely on the details in reports like this. The figures change depending on which newspaper you read. All this really tells us is that we've increased our offer - and even that is far from certain until either club confirms this.

Yea your right and we should have let Rooney go for 20m instead of 30m as well, damn clubs who think they should hold out for a good price for their best players, they should roll over and let us take them from behind.

Big difference between 20M and 30M vs. 19M and 23M. I don't see where us giving them 19M for one player is us "taking them from behind."

For that price, it's questionable as to who is taking who from behind.

I never said they couldn't hold out as they don't have to sell.

But I'd laugh my ass off if they didn't sell him for that amount and then he gets injured or has a substandard (by his standards) season. They could pull a Valencia and be forced to sell a player or two.

Watch the 23M bids roll in then.
