True, I'm sure some of them will.

I'd like to see atleast one big signing though if we've got the money, hopefully it's Joao.

I'd wait until January to spend it... or not. I'd give time to the current squad. Other fishes may come along the way for us.

Not for me, I'd rather spend it now. Moyes has said the spending hasn't finished, we'll still see new players in.

Have you been impressed by any of the signings?

Moyes also said he didnt see how we could get in any quality players and also as the window closure gets closer clubs arent going to want to part with top players cos they cant replace them, ie Moutinho. But hes a sly old dog is Davey.

I havent been impressed with any of the signings, ive just got this gut instinct that they are all going to do well, the only doubt i have is Sahas fitness, but it would appear that we will have paid buttons for him and if we can get him fit i rate him.

I just got this feeling that Castillo will become a beast and hes got a great eye for goal, i think he will flourish in the prem under Moyes.

Jacobsen looks a good honest RB and once he gets his feet, i think he will do well, with the greatest of respect a 1 footed donkey would make Hibbert and Neville look good going forward.

Obinna has got pace to burn and his direct, running at players with pace and lovely eye for the pass and goal is what we are missing at times, my only worry is his work permit and ofc losing him after his loan, either to some backdoor Inter put in or to our incompetence.

But i honestly dont think we are really, really skint and can see us splashing some hard cash, i just think Moutinho is a bridge to far and we missed our boat, when he came out and begged us to sign him, that was our time, now i honestly think he has had a lot of bridges to mend with regards to Sporting and the fans. I hope im wrong, i really do and at the end of the day what do i know? F All.

If we do have money, i just hope BK and DM dont panic in a need to spend it and try to please us, by buying some no mark for big money just cos hes got a fancy name.

I think Moyes is filling the gaps, right now. As he sad, he needs players but we won't get what he needs to progress.

With all honesty, I'd be happy with 2 solid midfielders, as said over and over.

He's managed to bring a rb, 2 strikers and a midifielder. We'll need another midfielder as Cahill is sidelined.

Will they attempt to bring a big name? I'd go for another loan on some promising player (Maniche, maybe? ).

In January there will be plenty of players available from big sides. Players unhappy at not getting as much football time as they'd like, others will be available because their clubs are not doing well in Europe and need some cash.

We can manage to bring that big fish we're aiming, I'm sure.

Good post.(y)

I watched the interview before and Moyes said the spending isn't over, he's still going to get a few players in. He actually looked confident when he said it which isn't usually like him. I definatly think we'll see something big before the end of the window, if it isn't Moutinho it'll be someone very decent who'll cost a bit.

On the signings, I think Saha could be an asset if we get him fit. It's a bit of a gamble but if it does pay off or we can get 25 games out of him we'll have the best strike force outside the "top four". He's as good as Yak on his day and I'm hoping he can do well here.

I do think Castillo could be a dark horse aswell, I haven't seen him play but I have that feeling about him. Hopefully he seizes his chance.

Obinna is a promising youngster, however I wouldn't bring anymore african players at the present time. Next season we'll have the ACN and we'll have problems.

Castillo I really don't know him, but lately some south american players are playing their trades in the EPL and like that Palacios lad with some surprising impact, I'd say. He'll cover for Carsley but we'll only see what he's made of after a few months. Until January I think we can have an opinion on him, wether he's on pair with what Carsley did last season.

Saha is the best known of the bunch. We all agree that he is a good player as long as he is fit.

I'd be happy if we managed to equal last season value of our team. If we don't progress, at least be equals. That may not be enough to secure 5th, anyway. But with the emerging youngsters and that eye of eagle signing, we could be in a good position to sign one or two big name players for next season.

That would mean that we stepped back this season, but we'd be stepping farther next year.

I'll be happy with a top seven finish and a cup. We need to win something this year, it's been far too long.

Good comparison to Palacios, he's really impressed me since him came to England. Valencia has also been impressive for Wigan. I do think Castillo will suprise a few.

Everton back to the load
JEAN-PAUL LARES

The period of transferêcias is drawing to a close - the deadline for registration of players is next Monday, September 1 - but the Everton has not abandoned its main ambition for this closure: the hiring of John Moutinho . To realize the "dream" of David Moyes, manager of the "Toffees", officials of the English emblem will return to load with a new proposal in a final attempt to convince the Sporting liberate the charismatic captain of his team. Rejected was the first proposal of 15 million, and ignored the polls aimed at measuring the availability leonina to agree on values slightly higher, Everton will offer a much more ambitious than the previous one, but can hardly achieve the levels the requirement established by the SAD green and white - the lions require a value close to the established in the termination clause, 25 million, and are less receptive to long periods of payment. Thus, even before a backdrop of an improved proposal, the proximity of the closure of the market makes it less feasible the agreement for the transfer of Joao Moutinho, the player most desired by Everton for the strengthening of its mid-field. The alternative may be the turkish Mehmet Topal, Galatasaray.

Just to repeat what ive heard and im chooseing not to believe it to keep hope at a minimum, people at the club expect Mbia and Mouthino to be at Everton come the end of the window, the deals are still on from what ive heard which could be [Poor language removed] of course!

The way i see it even if they are still working on them, its still far from certain.

I still believe he won't come. Sporting didn't sign anyone as a replacement and after the match on wednesday at Real Madrid, people realised why Moutinho can't leave.

Wonder what maybe afoot here...

Quotes from todays echo.............

In all likelihood, the most expensive additions will be recruited over the weekend(y)
