Good God he has about 5 good games a season saying that our championship neighbours have barely played him through the middle in his time there

Just looked up the squad for the WC final.. check out the goal keeper :) Had no idea he was a WC finalist too.

Haha!! yep i am amazed how many people forget that being dropped and then let go by Fulham was probably the lowest point of his career.

He was once a highly sought after goalkeeper hence Roma signed him from Ajax after that though his career stalled

When Van Den Saar retired he was the dutch number one from mainly 2009 on wards Playing two big tournaments.

So hes defo a good signing even if we sign Hart to have a backup of his quality behind Hart would give Hart the kick he needs also. Healthy competition.

I get that pace, power and height are important in the premiership but many of the best players in the league haven't had those attributes. Silva and Mata for example, both have quality on the ball that shames the likes of Sissoko.

I agree, just seems to be what the boss is aiming for this season.

The French have some fantastic players in their midfield a wealth of talent. So many good if not great options.

The dutch at the time when he played had a weak defense and i believe they had key injuries going into that tournament. Not exactly the same issue as the french either where they could pick several guys.

But its really like comparing apples and oranges....
Apples and oranges are round and they can both be made into a delicious dessert

There's a lot of negativity on here about this one but for me he would make a good signing. I think anyone would become suicidal in a Newcastle team and their performances would drop. At the start of the season he seemed to look good and I like the way he drives forward. The only reason I'd maybe say no is we already have a Barkley and he's better. They seem the same type of player to me but moussa is maybe more of a beast and less skilled. Hmm maybe there's room for them both now we are rich.

As is comparing international performances in European tournaments to EPL bread and butter games... he is decent enough, but for the money we are throwing around we should be getting players of a better quality regardless of the state of the current market.

A 26 year old player that didn't even stand out in a terrible Newcastle squad.. 30m should at least get you their player of the year:
Here's what their fans thought last season

7th best player in a team that got relegated.. 30m?

That article doesn't make sense but then neither do the Geordies
