Mourinho to Man Utd

Its not going to go down very well, having Mourinho as manager, SAF will most probably spend more time watching Everton in future.

I thought this was inevitable. Man Utd must have buckets of money, LVG spent £250 mill now Mourinho will spend the same again. I wonder what Bobby Charlton made of the appointment.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, they did much the same to Moyes after all, but very shabby way of treating someone imo.

Jose Mourinho: Louis van Gaal not told of Man Utd appointment
By Dan Roan and Simon Stone
Louis van Gaal left Manchester United's London hotel on Sunday without being told by the club that Jose Mourinho is set to succeed him as manager.

The BBC understands that Saturday's FA Cup final win over Crystal Palace was Van Gaal's last game in charge. The 64-year-old has now travelled back to Manchester along with his squad.

However, it is understood neither the Dutchman nor his coaching staff have been told what is happening by United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward. Van Gaal said "it's over" when a reporter approached him as he left the hotel on Sunday - but he is said to have been referring to his side's season rather than his own job.

Other members of Van Gaal's Old Trafford staff are believed to be unhappy at the lack of communication from the club's hierarchy.

What I don't want is for us to have a very short period where we win something with a bunch of overpaid mercenaries, only to then end up back right where we were once they leave

I want sustained success over decades

I want a manager to come in and create a dynasty using players from the youth set up, like Ferguson did with the class of 92

I want to pass down to future Evertonians a successful club

I don't want to be lamenting with kids in 20 years time that they've never seen us win anything, the way older supporters who remember the 80's have to do with me

You should want Everton to be successful FOREVER, not just once or twice in a 40 year period

The time for short termism is dead. We finally have the resources to build something that will last

We can afford to develop and hold on to this batch of young players

For the first time in decades, we control our own destiny

Yes, we'll need to make some big signings, of course we will, but we should be looking to promote from within also

If we'd had Moshiri's money a decade ago, we'd still have Rooney and would have probably built a title winning team around him

Now is the time to finally build the team you and I would have wanted to inherit

Not just you and me, but @nosejam , @Roztitute and others. Loyal blues who've seen us win naff all because we inherited a club on it's arse

Let's not let the next generation have to do likewise eh?

Let's build that dynasty

Let's get a manager in the vein of a Jogi Loew and let him build something amazing
Is right Mikey

If we get that bowl headed tool as manager I hope we get relegated cos we would deserve it.
