I am a bit transfixed on MikelsGoat's new avtar. I keep thinking.... wow, if that's MikelsGoat, then what does his missus look like.

Fellaini, Osman, Jo and Neville all played well but i'm actually gonna opt for Cahill. Simply because he looks brilliant in the centre midfield. He really was our driving force. I know he didn't play all the game but i'm gonna side away from the usual suspects and vote for Tim because he's suprised me in that role.

I was impressed myself, more off the ball than on it. He was neat and tidy on the ball but off the ball he was everywhere, in Wigan's faces and being a pain in the arse really. Great performance by Cahill.

Him and Arteta in the middle next season? If Moyes wants to fit Fellaini into the team that might just be the case with Neville moving back to right back.

Hibbo has cemented the RB.

He's been excellent there but Neville will always get the nod over Hibbert, I think we all know that.

Then Moyes will have to find a way to fit his 15 million man in, I think we all know his best position is behind the striker. So he takes over from Cahill and I can see Cahill dropping a little deeper alongside Arteta.

I could be wrong but I think it might turn out like that, unless he drops one of Cahill/Fellaini and we sign a new central midfielder.

Thats the problem I see, its going to be hard, everybody in the team is playing so well. Which is nice, but in an ideal world, Moyes is going to buy some new players next season. I know we will lose a few, but i really think that somehow Moyes will pull a cat out of the bag and make a big 1 somewhere.

My heart says The Mout or some very talented RM, my head says another frustrating Summer watching everybody below us gettting nearer. But if we do sign a few quality players, the competition within the squad is already excellent. I just hope we dont lose anybody we dont want to.

Agreed. He's our ****ouse and doesn't take any crap. He doesn't seem to be getting over run at all these days and has improved on the ball a hell of alot.

Agreed, I've doubted his ability to perform the role in the past (as an out and out midfielder) but I've always said he is capable of giving us something deeper, I've said it to Brownie a number of times.

You just have to watch a game from the 04/05 season, he played alot deeper than he does now even if he wasn't playing out and out central midfield. That's when I thought he was at his best.

Him and Arteta could be quite a partnership...

Yep. Both of them have improved in their discipline in terms of positioning and knowing when to go and not, especially Arteta. He's basically a defensive midfielder, a deep playing midfielder and should slot straight back in.

Cahill still has around 3-4 years in the centre of midfield in him. He's never relied on pace but it's just about whether his body can still take it and he's 100% lid.

Good to see Timmy's prowess as an actual footballer rather than just a goalscorer get some credit for a change.

Arteta's a fancy dan with a low workrate lad, he needs protection from a "destroyer", lad.
