Nah, he was so ponderous on the ball and more often than not picked the easiest pass possible. This season has been so bad that even the most basic achievements are now feted as a good performance.

We recruited a team that wants play triangles in the Dutch philosophy, then employed a manager who wants to play direct football in my opinion. Players like Sneider, Gueye Klassen are intricate pass and move players, we need more craft and directness in central midfield likely both.

I’ve never seen Schneiderlin do the move part, I’ve never seen Gueye do the pass part and I’ve never seen Klaasen do either.

We should retain Besic and the young lads, perhaps one of Gueye/McCarthy as a squad player but we need yet again huge investment in that area. Rooney Schneiderlin Klaasen all probably need punting.

They were bought to retain possession as opposed to being direct, we had a philosophy under Koeman and a completely different one under Allardyce, pass and move Vs direct. Its no wonder he often favors players like McCarthy and Davies as they are of that ilk.

We need a philosophy we are going to commit to with a manager then recruit accordingly at the moment our playing squad talents and skills are in contrast to how are manager wants to play, its very evident.

I think the manager is key, then recruit accordingly, biggest problem at everton is chopping and changing manager.

Dead wood in the squad is massive, sad to say - acres of it. Long, long way from the personnel we have now to where we want to be.

More optimistically, things are never as bad as we-just-need-eleven-new players, it's easy to forget how transformative good players can be to those around them. Like our team is a collective atrocity, but introduce 3 or 4 properly good players, in the right positions, and suddenly Gueye, Keane, Davis etc start to look strong.

..played really well and got my MoM vote. Only concern is he wasn’t busting a gut to stay on the pitch. I know a dead leg is painful but he looked keen to get off.

So would you if you can only stand on one leg. Maybe you think he should have been forced to stay on? It was a shame because when Davies came on in combination with the awful Rooney the midfield fell to pieces. Schneids had a hard job getting to the back of the dug out so I guess he didn't look like he was fit to carry on.

Had a good game last night and seems to be getting back into form even if it' just to force his way back into France' world cup squad or get a move away from the chaos we currently are :-( Someone who' in charge would have got his head sorted a lot sooner as French are special that way :-)
