Fella sat next to me wanted Rooney hooking when we were making the sub, told him Allardyce would be taking Schneiderlin off and dropping Rooney deeper. Thankfully he did, and we (and particularly Wayne) improved almost instantly.

You need confidence to receive the ball in a congested midfield and to look for a forward ball, as opposed to taking to safe option of laying it off or knocking it backwards. His game has never been about running around like a headless chicken btw

However, as ive mentioned before in this thread, he seems very well thought of at the club and always seems to be one of the first names in the team sheet at the moment. Even though we may not agree.
