Davek was this a sending off as well?
Yes. Needless going to ground especially given that the ref always protects the RS. A fine by the club on Rodwell was merited.

Don't think either of those challenges were necessary, and both yellows were reasonable.

Would have expected him to relish a game like tonight, but he was just ok. Seasons just begun though.

What are you on about? That second tackle was a fantastic tackle winning the ball. If that's a foul nevermind the yellow he got for it, players may as well not bother tackling at all anymore. Turning into a joke.

Are people honestly saying he didn't touch him? He caught him with his trailing leg, I'm pretty sure on that. And a tackle from behind and sliding in from distance is always at risk of a card and a foul even if you take the ball. I wasn't surprised at all when the card came out, and I think it's harsh not to acknowledge how the ref may have seen it even if you think ultimately it wasn't a foul. Ref has to call it in an instant. First reaction from me to him sliding in was no, no, no... Bad decision by Schneids for me.

It's a contact sport ffs! Just cause you might catch someone doesn't mean it's always a foul. What's your obsession with him sliding in? It's called tackling. He won the ball so it doesn't really matter does it.

Well I've probably covered some of what youre going on about in later posts.

I don't set the rules of the sport. It looked like it was behind to me at the time, slightly off to the side maybe. If the ref sees it as being from behind and there is contact then it's normal enough he gives a foul, no?

Err lads. This is the Schneiderlin thread. You seem to be confusing the best Everton midfielder of his generation with one of the numerous dogs you've seen playing in the middle for us.

Return to adoration please or you're kicked out of my thread.

soz. I'm squatting here. I wont be removed.

Morgan is a very good football player but I wish he hadn't done a slidey in that moment. Although I'm not sure it changed much.

There is nearly always going to be contact when a tackle is made so that doesn't mean it's a foul. It's whether he won the ball and he did. I thought it was more from the side because if it was from behind then he would have properly took out him before touching the ball. It was a terrible decision from the ref.

No for sure, contact doesn't mean a foul and in some instances a foul can be given with no contact.

Somebody else mentioned that Aguero turns his back to the tackle before he is touched and that could make it look to the ref that it was from behind. I'd have to see it again. Again though, if the ref sees it as being from behind he will give it whether we like it or not. I think it's harsh on the ref calling it terrible.

From this point onwards he doesn't count in your Everton world, you don't deserve him. Everton play only with ten men for your own purposes and lose every game. I want to see you post sad and complain about our pisspoor midfield please.

Seems the authorities want to remove the physicality from the game altogether, playing into the hands of the money clubs with the best footballers and preventing clubs without the resources from bridging some of the gap through a more industrious approach. The ref was always going to send one of ours off if he got the chance and he took it as soon as he could - only surprise was that it wasn't earlier in the 2nd half. If you cannot even tackle for fear of being done for a trailing leg making contact with your opponent, then you might as well just say the ball can only change possession through contactless interception or player error. Sounds ridiculous but I think all the money clubs would want the game to go that way if possible - players like David Silva, De Bruyne, Jesus would much rather nobody was allowed to tackle them.

What in god's name are you on about? He deserved a fine for winning a perfectly clean, non-violent tackle just because the ref was a clown?
