He is a real good player but just having a terrible run, for me he needs some time on the bench, he is being a liability at the mo, the new Barry picking up a card every week.
Get him on the bench, sort out a better starting 11 and ease him back in

How mate? How did he do ok?
Because he was up against Dan Gosling?

I thought his tackling was better. A few times he dragged Holgate and Williams out of trouble.

I thought once Davies came on and started making some forward runs in front of him, his passing also improved.

He's been struggling for form this season but imo he showed some glimpses yesterday of what he's good at.

Needs to play Thursday I think. Alongside Davies in midfield and let him dictate things for us with - hopefully - some better movement in front of him.

But that's not the thing to do though surely?

I wouldn't say he's been a liability any more than any of the others.

The main liability is Koeman's insistence on sticking with this system.

Thought he was a lot better yesterday. Still an absolute moron walking yellow card mind. Think he's bette when he's asked to be the sole pivot. I know Gana has been asked to do more further up the pitch but he'll always defend first and foremost and they just clash too much in front of the defence. Can't see them both on the pitch successfully these days.

Yeah I agree with that. He was maybe a bit complacent because he knows he was the £27 million star player who is first on the team sheet. Maybe even Klassen Davies in the middle would be more interesting, because then Klassen has got responsibility and can't mess up, and Schneiderlin has some time to think

I was just going to come on this post and see what people think. I'm not writing him off but he's definitely not playing like a star midfielder, he needs a bit more time and a bit of a push.

Needs to improve greatly just like everyone else.

He wasn't the type of player I wanted last January because I knew it would mean playing 2 defensive mids constantly but he came in and did well last year. Needs to get back to that level but the problem is none of the options behind him bar Davies offer me any more confidence right now.
