Basically got booed for going backwards when he shouldn't. Been in poor form, needs to gain more confidence like the rest of them tbh

And rightly so. That was at 0-1. We know he can do it, so why isn't he? What's wrong with him? He needs to be braver.

I know its like he is scared to take control and look for the forward pass. Again that goes for the rest of them, they won't express themselves or try and beat a man, they all play too safe

Confidence, Ian.

Mentality is a weird thing.

Bournemouth's goal came from Baines having space to run into down the left, but he chose the 'safe' option and went sideways/backwards to Williams.

20 seconds later King had the ball in our net.

He was fine. Possessing the ball, winning the ball, protecting the CBs, he was solid. He's playing a DCM role, there was plenty of space and time for the folks ahead of him, he doesn't need to play killer passes if they aren't there. Bournemouth started out with a ton of players behind the ball and defending.

Play him Thursday alongside Davies.

Give him the chance to get on the ball against a side that we should be dominating and dictate the play - like he did in the first half vs Hajduk before he got that knock.

Agree with this to an extent.

Schneiderlin wasn't great, no, but Gana and Klaassen in front of him were simply too deep. Gana didn't have a bad game - Klaassen is really been hindered by this system atm and Koeman needs to give him time to settle rather than throwing him in constantly in formations that don't let any of our players flourish.

That's exactly what I said, no lie. He played it to Baines (who should've been bombing on) but that put him and Schneiderlin under pressure as he wasn't. But I thought the exact same thing about that instance, Baines should've pushed forward.

He won't do it, guys. I don't know why, but he just seems terrified to get forward. Martina may be terrible in his own end and irresponsible getting forward, but at least he's getting forward. Baines is giving us nothing wide left. Granted, I would be terrified to leave Williams isolated, but that's partially Morgan and Gana's job.

I'm sure when Schneiderlin was at Southampton he got forward more than what he does for us. And in both cases he has had excellent defensive midfield partners to help do the dirty work (Wanyama and now Gueye).

Hopefully it's just a blip in form, he was excellent when he first came to us at the start of the year.
