As far as I'm aware it goes like this :

24m fee 4.5 years = 5.3m per year
6m wages per year = 11.3 per year
So if we sell him for 2m, we are relieved of the 11.3m for next year so we show an amortisation profit which helps with FFP.

FFP is on ice for the foreseeable future due to the 'rona. There's not a better time to get his salary off our books. Hopefully Gylfi and Yannick are next.

Think its a good idea to sell regardless of fee, freeing wages and removing a negative influence is more important.

....the indication is that prices will fall due to the impact of lockdown so I imagine the sell-on value of most players will drop in this market.

Now we can hopefully go and get the player Schneiderlin should have been a ball winner with an incisive pass. If only Gareth Barry was 15 years younger. He looked good when we initially brought him in but he seemed to suffer most when Koeman lost the plot.
