I don't want to see us spending 30 million on any single player this window. Most of the time they see us coming and we end up paying over and above for a player not worth even half the price. Would rather Thelwell and his scouts did some proper leg work and brought us in about 3 or 4 decent lads with potential in much needed areas and for less than 30 million for the lot. Interesting if he's willing to downgrade from Wolves to Everton. Looks a tidy player, but at £30m and knowing the gaps we have in our squad (defensive midfield, wing, striker) and the fact he doesn't appear to fill any of them, we must have a kin budget of about £100m. Happy days.

He has been out on loan and has two years left on his contract. Meaning that Wolves have two options. Sign him up on a new contract or sell him this summer.

Gibbs-White will and should not sign a new contract without guarantees that he will get minutes. Wolves try to convince him.

When Forest, Palace and Everton all want to pay big money for his signature, he has reason to believe that he will get minutes there.

In addition the Chinese owners at Wolves does not seem to want to spend much this summer. The club will need to sell to buy. And by selling Gibbs-White they get money in without weakening the squad from last season.

We are chasing a twenty two year old who has just had an excellent year in the championship.
People wanted us to sign Brennan Johnson and KLP and surely this signing if it were to happen would fall into the same category.

The advantage with this player is we already know the standard he is at and the new country, new language, new City, New culture risks are eliminated.

Just because somebody is foreign doesn't make them better and just because they may be a bit cheaper doesn't make them better vlaue.

They’re not really in any position to be rejecting that, given that he’s refused to sign a new deal and has barely played for them. I reckon we offer the same toward the end of the window they take it.
