As I watched the late drama this evening unfold before my eyes I couldnt help but get a Kevin Brock back-pass type feeling from head to toe . It enveloped me . I didnt wish it on myself like some Ricky Lake wannabe chatshow luvvie . It just came on me like id had a vision or something . Last time I felt like that Dave Watson lifted the F.A Cup 2 hours later . I am not prone to happenings such as this . But tonight I feel alive . ......with a quiet confidence that thinbgs are about to take off .

Same as last season. Played 3, lost 2, won 1. No panic :)

Maybe we are just glad we have won ? I dont care though . Everton are great and even greater when we have won . I let myself down against Arsenal leaving after the 5th goal . From now on I stay till the end my friends

I think our overall performences havnt been bad in any of our games, far better then last season - dissapointing results though - yes.

I expect the next maybe 6/7 games to be somewhat of an adjustment, new players, adjustment to the league/team, finding form, injured players returning - if we can get in and around the likes of Villa and Spurs by the end of Nov i will be happy.

I wish i could feel the same mate but after the performance we showed against the Latics, i am still a little concerned. Pienaar was in fine form during the second half of last season but has not impressed me that much, particularly in our three League games. Cahill is also worrying me a little with another inept performance has to is the problem with our right hand side. Obviously, i am more pleased with the three points than the overall performance at the minute and i get where your coming from, but i am generally disappointed with several players at the moment, and i am getting fed up with playing a negative one up-front at home against the likes of Wigan. If we can get someone like Heitinga in and a quality right midfielder, coupled with the return of form from several of our current players, we should all enjoy another excellent campaign.

Big game at Fulham in 2 weeks. Now our duck's been broken against them I can see nothing but 3pts, they were [Poor language removed] against Villa today. Plus AJ and Zamora will still be out

We'll be able to tell if it's a turning point in about 2 months.
Those Brock moments don't really happen anymore, money's intervened and made it a far from level playing field.
Massive penalty that though.

I too was thinking along the same lines as yourself before tonights ending . I think that we have been stung by a severe lack of confidence . You dont lose your ability but you do lose your confidence and you cannot have one without the other . Its the ultimate Ying& Yang . A champion has both in abundance . Call me naive but I saw something tonight that tells me that things are going to get better .

Personally , I think it's a little early for turning points . I get your point though . To be honest , we're still a work-in-progress . Even more than last year . Baines , Cahill , Felliani , Neville , among many others are yet to find anything like previous years' form . It'll happen . Plus , Fod-gate obviously did not help . Thus , more new faces , more acclimatization , thus more up's-and-down's , form wise for the next few weeks . I honestly think , with a fit squad , we're in a better position than in either of the past 2 seasons , and let's be honest . Though they didn't start great , they didn't end too badly . Did they ???

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum .
Keep the faith .

I agree mate, just a little disappointed with several key players at the moment but three points was the main objective today. I am sure we will be fine and will regain confidence in the coming months, and several more signings will help things greatly.

We must take back our principles that have served us so well these last couple of seasons . My main concern is how easy to cut through our midfield has been for the opposition . Today again our midfield went missing too many times for comfort . We where lucky that it was Wigan we where playing who are themselves low on confidence . If it was United or Chelsea ? Well just remember Arsenal .

But enough of the negative . Keep walking our talk and keep talking .

Agreed with Wool.
Confidence/momentum is a strange thing in sport. I seen signs tonight that it's going to be sound when it clicks/Arteta comes back.
