Draw probably suits us best though. Can't worry about the Reds, just have to focus on ourselves. LFC have their tough games coming up.

Exactly this. Who cares what they do or where they are on Christmas Day. We'll (hopefully) be above above them a week later.

All that matters is we get three points and are either 2 (if arsenal don't win) or 4 (if they do) points behind top on Christmas Day, and not 5 or 7 behind!

Come on arsenal don't want to see the red side of the city top for Christmas!

I want Chelsea to win and bugger the RS being top on Christmas Day.

They will be off that perch by Boxing Night hopefully as Citeh rip them a new one.

My view is that Citeh and Chelsea will fight it out at the top and we are in a fight with Arsenal, Liverpool and a few others for 3rd and 4th.

So I want Arsenal beaten.

For all of these high placed team battles, as long as Everton win, I'm going with the opinion that the best result in order are...

1. A draw
2. The highest placed team loses
3. The lower placed team loses

Each time a higher place team loses, we have the chance to close the gap on another target.
We're 4 behind Arsenal and 2 behind Chelsea for example.

Would much prefer being 1 point away from Arsenal and 2 points from Chelsea whilst sitting in 5th, than being ahead of Chelsea in 4th but 4 points away from Arsenal still.

On the plus side, even option 3 is ace for us.

Living through the RS glory years I'll never write off those gits, Arsenal are already showing signs of blowing up and Chelsea and City are as flaky as fook all meat and drink to LFC.

One thing they never lack is confidence and Moyes killing Utd has added a spring to their step ...... then there's Suarez - not good.

We need to win our next 3 games.

If we can do this then we'll likely be 3rd I think no matter on the head to heads really.

Having said that, id actually think a draw is best result and failing that a RS win...with suarez maimed.

Not even arsed so no need to fret if they are top for a few days. We win tomorrow and we win on Boxing day and we are above them does that make us title challengers then if City beat them and we are 1pt above the ****e? I had us down as being 4 points clear by New years day but if not no worries. Just looking forward to hopefully a top drawer performance and 3 points tomorrow and let everyone worry about us instead. Playing top Togger, playing to win and Boberto is drilling it into the lads heads that anything is possible

Exactly my feelings. I can see them getting something at City. This is the sort of fixture they've had a habit of winning even in the more recent years ie turning the tables on a top side previously enjoying a good run (in this case a 100% home record). They're also getting the luck in terms of meeting sides not at their best, yesterday's game being against a club recently thrown into turmoil being the latest example. Aghuero's absence next week is the next example. That said they are playing some good stuff and in Suarez they have this season's Gareth Bale ie a single player winning them lots of points.

Rather Arsenal draw, we win and we are 2 points off top with two home games to come while others around us play difficult matches.

If results go our way (realistically too) we could be 2nd at New Year, a point behind City. These are the top 5's fixtures before New Year...

Liverpool:
Man City (a)
Chelsea (a)

Arsenal:
Chelsea (h)
West Ham (a)
Newcastle (a)

Man City:
